I was in hospital with sepsis years ago and they were trying to put some cannulas in and they kept having to move it. They ended up bruising me from fingers all the way up to the top of my arms. 😳 I now have a massive phobia of needles and them trying to take my blood that I think my veins shrink in fear. 😬

Glad you had a lovely day out with friend KK. 😁

I know it’s ridiculous, but I have just ordered 2026 diaries for myself and Mr KK as I am already collecting dates in need to record …!

I have postponed my next dental check up that was coming up next week to February as my teeth seem to be fine and they offered me a 12 month interval anyway last time I was there. I shall empty that pit and make it an OP. 😊

@greenbee, I think the skills in hospitals are even worse, based on Mr KK’s experience when he was in hospital due to his kidney stone. How does getting your brother to do it work? He’s allowed to do that for you?
    He's a qualified medical professional :)

Phlebotomy at my last two hospitals were brilliant. The nurse at my current practice is too, so no need to hijack my brother in recent years!

Don't forget the ever faster price increases when considering deferring the condenser work on your car.

I understand what you mean, but there is no guarantee that will be the end of the work (because the system leaked at the condenser, they weren’t able to test the rest of the system) / how long the repair will last, so I’d like to wait until next spring. They have told me that the prices on these kinds of components don’t normally go up in price much in their experience. Plus, due to job changes etc. I am very short of leave days now for this year, so again would rather wait until next year.

Hacked out the weeds in a part of my garden that has been visually offending me for a while. 💪 Planted out the last of sections of plants my very serious gardening friend gave me last autumn - a dark pink Japanese anemone 😊

Cleaned the bathroom. I actually can’t remember when I did it last but it certainly needed it … 😳

Also very glad you had a successful blood test, I used to take blood in a previous life (as in job, I'm not a reincarnated vampire that I know of) and was weirdly good at it (okay maybe I'm a reincarnated vampire 😁) and it p*sses me right off when people say, and stress about, that they always have difficulties due to small or unstable veins. Phlebotomists need to feel, not look
To be fair she listened to my feedback about needing a fine needle and did a lot of padding and tapping and choosing before she went in and got it first time. It did hurt a bit though.
It’s not a job you’d consider gong back to?

Alas it's the sort of job that doesn't allow for the unpredictability of a chronic pain condition, and bank (as in quasi freelance) jobs don't really come up. I loved it though (not a vampire!)

Glad you got someone who listened

Also, now I've got my past professional hat on, as you say KK, definitely make sure you're hydrated before blood tests. We often made patients down a glass of water, it makes a difference

ETA we didn't 'make them' 👀😁

I didn't know that about hydration/blood tests.  I will remember that for next time my TFT is due which is soon.  Sorry thyroid function test, I've been having them so long I take them for granted.
