Went to a needle felting course today, on my own, because my friend who was supposed to be going hadn’t actually managed to get herself on the course / book time off … 🙄
It was really good. I’m absolutely shattered now as I never spend a whole day doing any kind of crafting so it was quite intense, but I learned a lot, enjoyed the company of the other people on the course and the tutor was great. 😊
It’s not finished but here is my piece:
(I’m calling it folk art! 😉😂)
The tutor had done a piece a bit like this, but I riffed on it a bit, changing the background and the colours of the flowers. For the first time ever of doing a course like this, I think I might actually continue with it outside the course as it is so easy and accessible to do 😊
Harvested some bay leaves and the first plums. There are MASSES of plums but most aren’t ripe yet, only another week or so and they will be ready. 😊 Then MiL can get into her jam making 😊

I've tried needle felting a couple of times and enjoyed it, my main issue is knowing when to stop and not add yet another bit in 🙄. Your piece is lovely,0

Thanks @Cheery_Daff, @redofromstart (good luck with the plum rustling 😊), @beanielou, @debtfreewannabe321, @skint_spice (does wet needle felting give you a flatter, denser finish?), @teapot2 (everyone was doing a lot of removing and rethinking yesterday! 😉), @Baileys_Babe 😊
Damp here and will be very damp in the garden I am going to today to meet up with an ex-colleague I haven’t seen for a while. 😉 It will be good to see her and this is my last ‘outing’ of my holidays so I hope it goes well! 🤞
Blood test I have to get back for this afternoon and my pay has landed so it’s time to do the monthly money-shuffle 😊 Also need to change the water filter and order new contents.
One thing I observed this morning, which cheered me. Normally as I feel a break drawing to a close I have a feeling of dread and resentment that my life is ‘closing down’ into work again. This time it just feels like I am going back to a different facet of my life. The shrinking I normally feel isn’t there this time 😊
Right, must get in with stretches and breakfast! 😊
