I’ve been quiet this week because I have been enjoying living life in my own routine whilst Mr KK has been away and I have also been very tired due to lack of sleep. This evening I have felt more myself again 😊
Meter reads submitted.
Third and fourth baby cucumbers harvested from greenhouse (that’s more than I got for the whole of last summer!)
Towels retrieved from conservatory, folded and put away.Eggs HB for the uses of lunch tomorrow 😊
Birds and cat both fed (not to each other! 😳😂)
Clean linen on my bed.
An hour of dead heading in the coolth of the evening. 😊❤️
Chloe cwtching now underway 😊
Food from the freezer defrosting ready to feed Mr KK when he gets home tomorrow evening 😊

Mr KK is safely home! 😊❤️
I’ve not missed him at all but it is nice to have him back 😊 There was MUCH squeaking from Chloe when she saw him x
Heavy session in the food / eating mindfulness process yesterday. I cried for the first time. I have some work to do for that tiny child that everyone kept brushing off and never loving, cuddling, spending any time with. It leaves you in a strange place where you’re glad to exist, whilst at the same time thinking your parents should never, ever, have had a child … 😉She’s going to set me the 30 plants in a week challenge, which should be fun. Last time I did I was at 30 plants by mid week but that was when I was vegan. It will be interesting to see if it has shifted since.Overcast here and but humid. I have many plants to get in the ground so I had best get on with it before it gets too warm.KKAs at 15.07.25:

At least Chloe missed Mr KK
And you are glad to have him back! Hope the food/eating mindfulness coaching helps heal the past. Much love x
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -

Re the TV - would he use headphones when watching? Really good quality ones, maybe bluetooth/wireless?
I'm cheap so I would likely go for the £29 pair but my OH likes quality sound so would probably prefer the others. Both available from Richer Sounds which is a great place to buy kit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Okay, confession time ….
We are laying a new stone slab path from the front gate to the front door and then either side of the front door across the front of the house. Part of the work for this, needed a heap load of old roses, scratty turf and other plants removing from a long stretch of ground. That on top of everything else that needs doing in the garden was just too much …
We have gardening contractors in work I am responsible for managing, that I have never come across locally before. They are good; they actually listen and do what is asked. So I took the plunge and got them to quote for a whole heap of work in the garden that is heavy, awkward and grim. Two days, one guy, one (huge!) trailer and it was all done! 👏😊 The look on Mr KK’s face when he got back from France yesterday and the work area was clear for him to concrete to lay the slabs on top etc was wonderful. ❤️ £360 total.
It also means that underneath the dark Japanese maple is clear of creeping bamboo and other weeds and we found a Buddha statue buried in the midst of it all, that FiL gave me years ago and I had completely forgotten about. Its beautifully weathered now and has pride of place under the tree ❤️
The bed under the heavily pruned JM (which is resprouting well now) is clear and the bed under the stone wall, opposite the house windows in the front garden is completed down to the drive now. This all means so much to me, I can’t fully explain it to you. 🤩I planted up the extended bed in the front garden last year whilst Mr KK was in France (it looks cute ☺️) and then bought plants last weekend for the bed under the pruned JM. It’s been too hot / I’ve been too tired to get them in the ground this last week after work, but today I did, starting at 7am!! Reader, it looks fabulous, if I do say myself. I’m absolutely shattered now, but I am happy! 😊
I have decided that I’m getting them back for a day in October to sort out my compost heaps, recover all usable compost for the veg beds and getting started on organising the garden, for next year THIS AUTUMN!! Then I might actually have time to visit gardens, see friends and have less guilt next year.Yes, this could have been an OP, but I don’t really go out, don’t drink or smoke, don’t do much really. My garden is my one indulgence 🤷♀️😊 I’m hoping this little investment will allow me to keep on top of the garden next year in a way I haven’t been able to since Covid, when I could barely do anything and it absolutely got away from me and I have been struggling with it ever since.KKAs at 15.07.25:

That sounds like a highly sensible decision to make a transformational investment into something you love to me, and a good way to claw back some control in the garden.

Nothing wrong with getting someone in to do the 'heavy work '. Consider it a proactive mental health expense.
You will benefit more from it being done now, than beating yourself up after spending a week in this heat doing what they can achieve in 48 hours.
They have the right tools for the job.
Plus you can recommend them to other people !!
I do envy people with gardens. Money spent at the right time of year reaps dividends later.
My pumpkins and courgettes look like they are considering fecundity. My cuke has a single flower, I have green tomatoes on the vine, and embryonic purple runner beans! Not bad for bucket planting.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
