Enjoy the crypto course (I have not done it), the bankless podcast is about up to date stuff and interesting though they do like to drop acronyms. Reddit has some great forums on it just dont click on links or respond to DMs.
Just be aware once you got some money on the exchange invested (i use Kraken) then you need to get a cold wallet (hard drive with software to keep crypto on) for security purposes (Trezor or Ledger) they start about £40 + - buy direct from the retailer - not via amazon - I am waiting til I have about £200 in crypto and then will buy the
You can play with £10-£20 it does not have to be all or nothing - but it has a huge swing. Bitcoin is up 19% in the last month, but can easily fall so slow v steady..
Thanks for the tips about the sourcing of the cold wallet. 👍 Added to my crypto info file 😉This might sound like a daft / naive question, but how do you convert it back into a ‘currency’ or format that might, for example be usable for paying down the mortgage or adding to a pension?KKAs at 15.07.25:

It’s been a strange day here … I just haven’t *wanted* to … 🤷♀️ Think I have been battling a bug (had a headache on and off all day) and the sciatica wasn’t helping - both have eased a bit now so maybe I needed a lazyish day?
Did go up to the local market town to look for work trousers. MnS was a complete bust! 🙄 Wandered around a few more places, none with anything sensible as work wear (no, I do NOT want skinny or pencil trousers for work - I’d look like a flipping clown in those styles plus safety shoes! 🙄😂😂😂). I eventually found something a bit more wearable in EWM and that was the one shop where the staff were friendly too 🤷♀️😊 They are a bit cheap and lightweight, but they mean I have *something* I can wear for now.Did manage to get a few other things done:
- Got Mr KK’s big washing batch pretty much dry on the line, finished in the TD and folded for him. I needed this processed and put away so I can collapse the heated airer tomorrow morning to make space for the new kitchen fridge arriving tomorrow.
- Sorted and tidied my chocolate and herbal teas cupboard
- Got Mr KK to let go of a dead leather jacket! 😊👏🎉
- Watched a lot more of SYLO - it’s been really helpful this time and it’s triggered ideas in me for better storage in the kitchen and a potential storage solution for Mr KK’s modelling stuff … this has made him very happy 😊❤️
- Written an ambitious list for tomorrow …. 😉
Had positive feedback about the interview last Friday. Should hear whether I go forward to second interview by Thursday this week …

Did my £cial updates this morning and noticed that the extra mortgage £1650 payment that @ccord took, has been returned!! 🎉🤩🥳
As per plan I have divvied it up as:
- £571 to the joint household account so that’s now back up to it’s target £1K 😊
- £650 to my savings to refund the TV, fridge, builders merchant bill and the extra firewood!I think that leaves us fairly square 😊 I have left the remaining £429 in the joint account to offset the extra interest we will be charged when the first mortgage payment plus interest goes out on 1st December. If my calculations are wrong that will become an OP at some point 😊Feeling a lot happier now that’s sorted.

Some other progress made today …
Decluttering:
- Made a start in the kitchen by working my way through one cupboard. That allowed the clutter on the table to shrink by c. half! 😊
- Pulled out an armful of clothes from the office wardrobe that I am certain I will never wear again … Struggling to let go of some stuff I really like, but is too small for me now ….
- Persuaded the fridge delivery team to bring in the 1kea unit evicted from the garage to the conservatory where I gave it a really good clean.
- With Mr KK, carried 1kea unit upstairs to office, to serve as modelling equipment storage. He moved stuff up from the sideboard in the snug and I started cleaning the sideboard top ready to hold Christmas treats!
Adulting:
- Got oil and filter changed in my car for £81 and a loooong vent by the garage owner-mechanic about his customers! 😂
- Parish council this evening - good atmosphere and the last one of the year 😊
- Prepped for interview tomorrow morning. This organisation is part a trade supplier, part retail whilst being an OEM - a new one for me …
- Washed my interview top (which I discovered covered in dust) when extracting unwearable clothes in the office …
- Renewed the water filter.Fun things:
Not enough actually!- Ordered two interesting looking books for Mr KK for Christmas 😊

Ooh, I feel like I've missed tomorrow's interview! Is that a second one for the job you had the first one for? Or the first one for a second job? 😂 Good luck either way!3

Fingers crossed re the 2nd interview !Chloe sounds gorgeous
well done on being calm and organised on the money
crypto wise when you buy you transfer £ pounds into the exchange then buy whichever crypto you want
Some banks won’t let you transfer money to crypto - Monzo does which I use and Revolut facilitates within that I’d ignore
so to get money out you would have to sell the crypto, get it back into the £ then transfer back to your bank - I have left mine in so ..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
