How is it that sometimes they can sneak in through the cat flap without you knowing, and at other times they are like door-slamming teenagers?

Great start on the knitting.
Glad your kittens are settling in and making you feel like they value you at last.

I so loved the line that someone posted of "the house was infested with people". Very autistic view of looking at the world... I should know...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ummm …. I’m a bit shy about my ‘artwork’ @savingholmes, it’s more like doodles than ‘art’! 😉
The kittens haven’t sat on me since, but at least Chloe accepts strokes and scritches now without flinching - I’ll take that 😊❤️
It’s an interesting yarn @beanielou. 22% merino, 22% alpaca, 23% polyamide, 23% acrylic and 10% viscose. So a bit plastic, but that makes it hard wearing 🤷♀️ and really quite soft 😊

I seem to fallen into quite a bit of cooking during my five days off …
- walnut and lentil pies - bit odd, quite bitter, rather dry (should have added all the recommended oil to mix, I think) but good with gravy, mash, veggies etc.
- a Cypriot stylee bean stew thing which I haven’t tasted yet as you are recommended to leave it a day and reheat before eating … 🤔 Used thyme from the garden ❤️
- mushroom stroganoff with cashew cream tonight - used my homegrown red onions and parsley for this! 🥳
- straining the yoghurt for my first ever attempt at tikka masala paneer tomorrow
- will also knock out a batch of lentil and mushroom bolognese tomorrow
Also, got out in the garden for an hour and cleared many, many ‘dead’ pots - another job that has been ‘looking at me’ for months 😊

Just caught up with your diary... so sorry boss is being so annoying - at least it sounds like you have a plan in place to deal with him. Laughed at all the hard stares coming from here ...I am still looking crossly at him.
I keep detailed timesheets of what work I get through on my billing for my contract work - (mentioning names, tasks, conversations/chats/emails on projects etc) so I am assuming you have now started doing that.. Maybe flag Operational work, suddenly asked for work, work for legal obligations etc etc so you can show the division of your time.
I really liked the bottom of jumper 2 so glad you started it - I do like the higher neckline though of jumper one..
well done on tidying the dining table, there are always hotspots that attract clutter..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
