Slept really well last night for the first time in a looong time - combination of new mattress topper, less shoulder pain and a dispersal of tension I think. Another mad busy day. Found myself second guessing myself … sigh ….
Had a proper poop-scared moment just now …. 😢 Must just keep pushing on.Got a letter from current mortgage provider with their possible alternatives. There are a couple there that look half decent. I will scan it over to the broker tomorrow and get his input.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Something magical happened last night which I want to share here ….
Little Cat Chloe is imperious, aloof and quite a scaredy, frit little thing. Normally she avoids me and flinches or tenses up when I stroke her. I find it quite distressing and it makes me miss Flower even more so I tend not to bother (too much).
Just before bed, as I was sat on the sofa she came in from the garden. It’s getting chilly outside at night now and after trying to settle on ‘her sofa’ she jumped down and came and looked at me and my seat like cats do …. I was surprised. She jumped up in the sofa and climbed on me, settled down and proceeded to purr and have a licky-clean like she has never NOT sat on a hooman lap before! 😳 I was honestly shocked. Mr KK, bless him, was delighted, George got jealous and insisted on sitting next to me! Truly a milestone moment …. ❤️🎉🥳🤩

So cute, a cat on your lap is so lovely and comforting. Mine will lean on me occasionally, which is lovely but not quite the same.
Don't push yourself too hard at work Kajikita, you are doing your best and any employer should be grateful for that. Unfortunately when they start playing games, it takes your focus away from actually doing the job, so then more likely to make mistakes. Make sure you are clear on what's achievable and focus on those things, as well as staying healthy."Think of many things, do one"

Thanks @SandyShores, the next few months in work are going to be ridiculous, but if I can get to the end of the year I think I can outlast Colonel Colon (his contract ends in July) ….
Yes, @redofromstart, one thing we are both realising is that she is VERY anti eye contact - she doesn’t like it at all. Whereas Georgeous just accepts eye contact from us, as us being stoooid hoomans - she seems to expect us to Be More Cat …. 😉
Thanks @beanielou 😊
Appreciate the hard stares @Brie 😊😉 I have already told him about the mentoring offer ….
Anyhoo ….. 😊
Mr KK left at 3am this morning as he switched to an earlier ferry due to the weather forecast. I have had a brief WhatsApp and there are various FB posts appearing so I suspect he’s enjoying himself ❤️ That led to a very disturbed night (I think he woke the cats up) so once I got back to sleep, I slept in until 8.30am!! Unheard of ….!! 😳 I must have really needed it.Tip run done: both mattress toppers gone, several bags of cooking foil that has been building up over months, some cardboard and an ignored cat toy.Bed stripped, washed, line dried and remade 😊
Booked windows clean as a surprise for Mr KK to come home to (in a similar vein to him booking the conservatory clean as a surprise for me ❤️)
Conversation had with union - I now know what’s what and how to respond to things if they come up. After the tip run I went on into town, refuelled and washed the car and picked up some foody bits. Tried a new recipe - a kinda walnut, lentil, tomato, pastry thing - tasted okay but a bit dry …. had it with cauli cheese for dinner - that worked well 😊
Quite a bit of knitting, bit of cross stitch (that really makes me slow down …)
Had a head ‘boom’ this morning and got stuck into a huge heap of books, clipped recipes and other guff that had accumulated on the armchair in the snug. Filtered the recipes, filed them in an order logical to me 😉, found a few old favourites and a few I would like to try. This is job that has been needing to be done for MONTHS! I first formed the intention to do it during the FiL dying time … Even though I wasn’t directly affected, I think it created a kind of ‘drag’ that meant I just couldn’t face that task …
A couple of tasks I wanted to do today didn’t get done, but hey, that’s ^^ not a bad day 😊

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Had a positive and nice day 😊🌞
Got two rows of knitting and some washing done before heading out to see my friend. We had a chat then headed off to Stow on the Wold - verrrr purty. Also, ludicrously pricey … We kinda fell into a *proper* art shop where she bought sketch pads and oil paints and I found a pack of pastel pencils - mind blown! I love the ‘feel’ of pastels but they are soooo messy … Looking forward to seeing what playing with them as pencils is like 😊❤️
We then went onto the Roll Wright stone circle; a beautiful space 😊🤩
Came home, fed frantic (we have been abandoned, woe is us!!) Little Cats 😉, retrieved the dried washing and made myself mushrooms and fried halloumi for tea, followed by an indulgent creme brûlée with grilled sugar top 😊
Done the food shop for the week along with ingredients for two further new recipes and various non Mr KK indulgences … 😉
