Great feedback on the advisor talk and hopefully he gave Mr KK more clarity as well as you..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I haven’t yet had the conversation with Mr KK about what I discussed with the advisor. He’d had another very long day at his mum’s yesterday, moving furniture, helping sort out accounts, starting to pay the funeral director etc etc. I was late home due to an unexpected meeting and he barely got home before me. We are going bathroom finalising and clothes shopping for him on Saturday (the latter only happens about very 4 years! 😂😂) and the drive up to Hereford will be a good time to chat about this stuff.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Thanks @savingholmes, @Brie 😊
I suspect he is too busy with his regular job tbh 😊
Very intense day, but did get out for a walk at lunchtime, pulled some bindweed in the veggie patch when I got home and a whole load of green slime / hair weed out of the little top pond. Also, just finished a novel with a satisfying and ‘happy’ ending (which is what I need atm 😉) 😊

A crumb of MSE progress today 😊
- Following my conversation with the financial coach I have confirmed with the local pensions rep earlier in the week that my contributions are done under salary sacrifice.
- therefore, I have increased my contribution to 10%, the maximum that my employer will match.- Thanks to this year’s pay rise and the tax relief etc on this, overall my net pay is still slightly higher than before my pay rise.- If when we remortgage and sign up to a new energy deal in September/October this year, we are short of money payroll have confirmed that I can reduce my contribution again … but I will have had 4 or 5 months of an additional 4%+ 😊
- Went to the out of town barn like place on the way home and picked up two big bags of cat litter, 4 litter trays (to use to ferry plants around! 😉) and a couple packets of seeds - cat grass and courgettes 😊
Mr KK, meanwhile has brought home a thunking great log to put in the catio 😊❤️
