    I will be the same age as Mr Cheery this year.
    Sobering thought that you have certainly lived way more of your life than you have left. My granddad died at the age I am now but the women seem to live longer.

    hi there, from what i have come to know about you from this forum, i think you would be a really good celebrant. We chose a 'spiritiual' lady to be the celebrant for my sisters funeral a couple of years ago and she was amazing, she led us through everything and was highly organised and had lots of ideas and then listened carefully and incorporated our ideas too. My sis felt a ladybird was one of her animal spirit guides and we had a few small ladybirds pictures and was wowed by the fact she had placed a ladybird pin on her shoe on that day. it was a wonderful touch. (We also witnessed 2 real ladybirds fyling around me, my mum and my brother during the graveside service, which was pretty incredible as it was November!)
    Anyway only mentioning this beacuse I think you could be like this lady and make a very difficult day into something quite special.
    {{{hugs to you and your family at this sad time}}}

    When we had a round of redundancies at work one chap mentioned that he was going to take the opportunity to become a celebrant.  I had no idea that people did that as a job, in fact actually had to ask him what he meant.  But it made perfect sense for him.  He was a lovely calm individual and was known in the department as being well prepared to question executives when we did silly company wide calls.  And he'd been a member of Toast Masters for a number of years so had practiced public speaking which obviously helped prepare him as well.

    I can imagine you being a wonderful calming influence at a time of great emotion for many people.

    The acid test will be how it looks from June onwards, but at least we can get to the tap safely now! 😊

    Forgot to mention, I found a sticking up, headless screw in one of the slabs by the pond 😳 Absolutely lethal for feet, knees or hands if they had come down on it. It looks like it snapped off when Mr KK removed the piece of ‘footer’ wood he screwed in place to support the ladder whilst setting up the new flue for the wood burner. He was shocked when he saw it and whacked it off with a bar. Near miss for both of us I think!
