DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I suspect not. I get small red, itchy reactions from typical ‘midges’ but there are some small, persistent black flies in my garden (seem to be associated with hawthorn) that when I get bitten by them I have a reaction that leads to deep bruising, typically over a 3 to 4 inch diameter, that lasts several weeks and the scarring lasts months. If I take an AH as a a preventative the reaction is less severe.Brie said:Would something simple like a chamomile tea bag on a bite work for you or is it the pollen??KKAs at 15.10.25:

I think I react more to bites in the last few years, something outside bites me regularly. I get 1cm raised yellow bump of yuck so I use a hot tea spoon to 'draw' the sting, bite cream and AH reduce the effect but don't stop it. The one on the bra line a week or so ago was especially annoying. Much sympathy. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Been a busy, 10K steps day 😊
- planted out lettuce plantets from the plant centre in my greenhouse, as per Monty on Friday evening 😉
- almost finished reading ‘Pl@nted’ by Liz Z0rab - lovely, lovely book - a random find in Hay last time we went there. It’s all about the writer and her husband trying to grow most of the their food themselves from a blank field whilst working through ill-health - her humility, adaptability and creativity is just glorious. I’m learning a lot from it and it will bear re-reading 😊
- pretty much got Mr KK’s washing dry outside - just needed a brief go in the tumble to finish off.
- planted up two low pots with alpines for either side of the entrance to the sit spot border pathway - cleared a load of rubbish and clutter at the same time - pleased with how this has come out
- cleared the last of the Persicaria!!! 💪👏🎉🤩
- moved volunteer foxgloves and aquilegia from one of the veggie beds to the areas where the Persicaria were - have left a gap for perennial sunflower that I am growing from seed this year
- Mr KK came back from a long bike ride quite late, washed his bike 🙄😉 then his van and my car, finishing off with pressure washing the back steps which I had asked him to do - looks loads better - Hero Husband 😊
- then planted up the cleared veggie bed with well chitted, first early spuds 😊 mains are still in the house
Tired but happy 😊

They are creeping around the house tentatively and have now got to the point that I can go in and out of ‘their’ room with food and deal with the litter tray and they have huge scared eyes but are not diving under the wardrobe any more 😊savingholmes said:Thanks for sharing photos.
