    Thanks Beanie 😊
It’s been an area that has been like an ulcer in my conscience since last year, so it feels really good to finally get it moving 😊 Like breaching a psychological hurdle.

I suspect it looks better than it actually is due to it being quite wet! It’s quite odd soil round here - quite silty and sets like rock when dry in the summer. I have been working (not very effectively! 😂😂) on these beds for four years now so they are starting to get better … 😊

Fantastic progress, and what an absolutely gorgeous sit spot! 🥰🥰
Thank you and yes, we love it 😊

That sit spot is gorgeous and great place to admire all your hard work !

There is an amazing after bite lotion called Bactine - from the States I think -a colleague gave it as it really helped after I unusually got attacked by French mosquitos after a river flooded

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Well done on tackling the veg bed. I think I'd be reaching for cardboard and composting over it though... as per D0wding.

I’ve done that in the past but because there is such a slope from left to right of the image I find everything falls off the RHS and onto the path - gets very annoying. Also, i never seem to have enough material to fully obscure the weeds and the bindweed grows out from under the cardboard…. I had to take off all the wooden sides when we got here as they were rotten and a party venue for slugs and woodlice! Thinking about it, a metal side (just on the bottom) with a rolled top might work but be many ££s …
