Thanks for all the suggestions.Just read Psalm 23, The Lord is My Shepherd - whacked me between the eyes and had me bawling imagining reading it at the funeral … reckon that’s the one. If it has to be fully bibley then I have suggested Ecclesiastes 13. I’m out of time now - cousin has just emailed me asking for the reading I have settled on as she has to confirm to the printers this evening. I am fed up of reading the bible now - read more of it in the last week than I have in the last 40 years!! 😂😂Had our monthly printed statement from our joint house account - £238 surplus. Have left £50 in there as a buffer, moved £61.61 into the linked savings account for house emergencies/DIY projects (which rounds it up to £1,000) and moved £126 sent off as an OP 😊❤️
Mr KK has been impressing me lately:
- he mentioned in passing that he has increased his monthly contribution to his highish interest account a while back 😊
- he has thought about how to split any inheritance he might eventually get from his parents - 1/3 to his pension, 1/3 to living a bit, 1/3 to the house (saved as a lump to drip feed into OPs without penalty or to do major works on the house). 👏😊KKAs at 15.10.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £229,702
- OPs to mortgage = £12,345 Estd. interest saved = £5,863 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030

I'm not religious but I do like 23 - but prefer the 'I shall not want' version to the more readable wording and it's one of those things that people like nod and know the first bit at least. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

That's great that Mr KK is being so mse, and really encouraging mental-health-wise in this difficult and sad situation that he's feeling able to think about practical inevitabilities and see ways to find joy and progression from them.
I'm so pleased the suggestion of The Lord is My Shepherd has been useful, and moving!
Credit goes to my mum as I asked her as she knows bible things far better than I do, and she'll be really touched that her recommendation has been helpful ❤4 -

It really is. I can start planning my break next week and across Easter after the funeral. I have 10 days away from work - really needed.skint_spice said:I’m glad you managed to make your decision, that must be a relief!KKAs at 15.10.25:
