Had a nice time 😊 Was a bit shocked at the end of the meal when I couldn’t pay with cash! Apparently the venue hasn’t accepted cash since 2020 …. 😳 Meant I lost my NSD as I had to pay on my card instead of from my ‘pocket money’ - ah well. 🤷♀️
Bought two teeny, tiny houseplants - they did come out of my pocket money! 😉😊
English coaching session went well - we worked through where he could have expanded the essay a bit more and we wrote a conclusion together that he had completely missed. I’m quite proud of the homework I set this week - compare and contrast his two PS5 games, when he plays them and why etc. The latest book is a good one - he started it today in the lesson, with a bookmark (finally!) and I finished it this evening (I started it Thursday. It made me cry …. We have started negotiations on changing the time or delivery as I won’t want to be doing 4pm on Saturday afternoon sessions after the clocks change …. Apparently he is starting Macbeth in March and is starting to get example exam papers, so I have asked him to send me a copy so I can use that as a template for other work.Bakers and freezer batches for dinner - a nice easy one 😊

That is a good homework question!
Have you read Hagseed by Margaret Atwood? Might be an interesting one to get your student warmed up on Shakespeare if he hasn't encountered before3 -
Thanks 😊PennysIntoPounds said:That is a good homework question!

I was introduced to Pratchett via Wyrd Sisters as a contrast to MacBeth. Never looked back.

It's also not the easiest book but like all Atwood very readable, and for a teenage boy if intimidated by Shakespeare, then reading about adults, especially men who are convicts also learning it, might make it seem less lonesome and help get used to some of the language in a less full on contextKajiKita said:

My aunt has multiple organ failure due to all the alcohol abuse. Currently in hospital drifting in and out of consciousness. My cousin texted me late last night to tell me and I had a call with my aunt this morning. She was mumbling so I think she knew it was me.I will do the Death Rites for her later as she is as tough as old boots and already shouldn’t have lasted this long. The Rites should help her on her way.KKAs at 15.10.25:

This sounds like a kind thing to do. I know as someone who is not religious that it's a bit weird at times when someone says they are praying for me or whatever. But I've learned to take this at face value of wishing me well as I know that it's coming from a good place. Hoping your aunt finds peace.KajiKita said:I will do the Death Rites for her later as she is as tough as old boots and already shouldn’t have lasted this long.
