Oh no Talhullah what a nightmare!Ed that doesn’t sound too bad for two cats, we had a Maine Coon years ago, so friendly! And you are right it’s cheaper to insure people, crazy really but I’ve always thought animals get better care. I get a vet appointment straight away usually, much quicker than the GP 😆Watty I can’t bear to think of what horse vet bills might be 😱
The to-do list has seen a little movement Al 😬 This week I have ordered :
Shoes and bag for wedding one (ds2) -arrived today and great 👍 £89 for both, a result!Personalised: wedding memory box, candle, champagne glass, beer glass, matching mugs for wedding morning tea, necklace x2 (dd and dgd to be) starlight jar, gift tags, Yankee wedding day jar candle. As well as quirky gift wrap and cards. Phew! All the odds and ends really. Also bought some euros and ordered some nachos and chocolate covered strawberries to be in the cabin on ds2’s honeymoon cruise. Did look at champagne but couldn’t bring myself to spend that when we have paid for an all inclusive drinks package as a wedding gift 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
Not sure where he last few days have gone, it’s been a bit stressful with family this week so that’s my excuse 🙄
Kitten is settling in ok, he spends most of his time haring round the house or attacking us 😂 Jabs are booked and I’m getting the jab for life package afterwards.
Today is payday 😬 I’ve done the money shuffle and also spent ages sorting the holidays we have booked. We have decided to cancel dh’s 50th 2 week cruise which was mainly booked so we could go to Russia, but I feel I may not be the right time and they may well change that port. Instead we have booked 2x one week cruises before and after his birthday, the first to Scandinavia , the second and fly cruise to Italy and croatia from Malta, the swap has cost around and extra £88 as one cruise is all inclusive, so not bad value.I’ve also booked a northern lights one for nov 2023, it’s with a big cruise company rather than the Norwegian local one which looked amazing, purely due to the cost 😱 managed to get £50off PP so it was £899 each for 12 nights. The holiday budget should cover all this but everything else will be very frugal now, as there’s hardly any leeway in the budget!Food/petrol/misc living costs have strangely not gone over budget yet this month with a huge £85.67 left until the end of the month, plus we have loads of food in. Not sure how that was managed but I’m pleased. I’m popping to the shops tomorrow so might stock up on toiletries while I’m there while there’s flexibility in the budget this month, it’s handy to have a stock in the bathroom cupboard for when money is tighter.I’m also I’ve the moon that although January has been a lot dear than expected, we have just scrapped through and are still able to make an £800 overpayment to the mortgage and put £800 in the holiday pot 😁
If there is any food money left on Jan 31st I think I will make a small one off payment to the gas/elec company, we have just had the DD upped by £32 but I’m getting very nervous of what happens in April!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -

All the cruise changes sounds great - it’s so lovely to hear people making plans again!
Glad kitten has got jabs booked. My two are overdue their boosters and on a waiting list - normally have them in November, had appointment booked for last week (because that’s when vets said they’d have the vaccine) but vets cancelled that and now we’re on a countdown to when jabs expire in Feb. Apparently there’s a shortage of the vaccine, which I’ve heard is to do with a shortage of vials… Covid bites again! Won’t be happy if I have to pay out for new set of jabs though 🙄Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks NG. I hope so too. Would be less worrying if I wasn’t receiving reminders from the vets about their appointments being due - had two (one each) posted letters yesterday! 🙄 Think I’ll ring and see what’s happening this morning.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Some spending may have been done today 😁 £13.75 from the “home” pot on decorating stuff and filler as I’m going to decorate the hall. Plus £17.75 on toiletries to stock up for a bit, £5.65 on birthday/valentine/Mother’s Day cards (from the cheap card shop clearly 😆) and £5.80 in cost@ from my personal pot. Also made a decision on the new stair carpet, one I may curse later I’m sure but I’m going to paint it all instead 😱 best friends little sister has a very trendy north London house and has painted hers black and it looks amazing, so I need to sand, remove all the nails and stair grips and probably fill a bit too as they are pretty rubbish looking. It might be better as our white bannisters are always dirty and the paint literally wears off sometimes.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4
