Hi jessy and velvet freak thanks for following 😊
Gave ds2 a lift to work first thing as he is doing such long hours with staff off ill and popped to the shops while nearby. Bought a few bits, 3x hair dye on offer for £11, cheap shower gel and shampoo and took back a couple of sale tops from n@xt I’d bought with a gift a card from Xmas. I might see if I can add the gift card refund to my online account instead as that’s where I’ve ordered from already for the hen do outfit 🤔
Dinner was a cheats chicken casserole made from frozen chicken pieces and a bag of frozen casserole veg with a packet mix, very lazy in the slow cooked but handy when everyone arrives home different times and I’m not in the mood to cook 😬
In the hope I might achieve more than watching tv and eating leftover quality street from now on, here’s my first draft to do list for now until the end of March:- Get myself and dh wedding outfits and accessories that look great at a hopefully good price
- Paint the hall stairs and landing, sand and gloss bannisters and skirtings
- Get main stairs some new carpet
- Get laminate flooring done in spare room (only room that wasn’t done when rest of house was)
- Smarten up front garden and make up planters for either side of front door
- Ditto back garden, replace 2x broken fence panels
- Source some hen do decor bits, some banners balloons etc.
- Find a wedding gift to open for ds2 and fiancée , budget £80 (paid for all inclusive on their honeymoon cruise already)
- Write bucket list
- Get boiler serviced
- Get car (s) mot’d
That’s all I can think of right now 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -

Just before the first wedding I think KP 😬
Well the dress arrived and although I like it, I don’t like it on me. It’s wearing me not the other way round 😆 Now I have to work out how to send it back safely! I’ve already ordered another this time for ds2’s wedding, its coming tomorrow and only just over £100, fingers crossed for that one.
Saw best friend today and she’s given me some fancy makeup from her advent calendar she doesn’t use 🙂 make up is something I never spend lots on, likewise skin care, I use boots vitamin c night mask and Nivea daydream with spf which is lovely and cheap. I think the biggest help has been quitting drinking though, it made a difference very quickly to how my skin looked 🙄
Watched Martin on his show tonight, scary stuff about the energy hikes 😱 looks like I’ll be staying put on the normal rate until he says to move and switch, we are now paying £182 a month and it’s still flipping freezing here most of the time and we have no tumble dryer and I don’t iron (or hoover too much 😂) not good!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Hello Newgirly. How is Essex life?3
-
😁 Well hello long time no see, Essex life is very good thank you, how are you doing? 😊
Up early due to snoring, so in a toss up between murder and tesc@ I decided to go shopping at 6.30am,
£88 spent on an unplanned no list shop, of which I’ve eaten half today as I’m tired 😆
Ds1’s new girlfriend is here for the second night in a row, I’ve only seen her for a matter of minutes as he keeps her hidden up there! She seems nice and normal and likes Harry Potter, so that’s a win in this house 😬

Lazy weekend really, finally had a good chat with ds1’s new girlfriend who is lovely. He has been watching his team West Ham today, and some of the Leeds fans got a bit unpleasant (aka violent until the police came) , luckily he hadn’t taken her as she’s from Leeds! He’s fine though and quite wise as to what to wear and where to be depending on who they are playing, no away shirts when playing against certain teams , no home shirts even when playing certain other London teams when travelling to your home ground, sad but better safe than sorry I guess. The other part of my weekend has been spent as has much of the last few weeks really, looking at cats and kittens. I’m not convinced I want another cat as I just miss my old girl so much, but I’ve found myself talking to the robot hoover everyday now instead of the cat 😆 the house is quiet without her constantly yowling at me for no real reason. I’m torn if I do get a cat whether to go for an old rescue, but as we are on a main road we have already been turned down in the past. Or to go for a kitten that will be mostly indoor and possibly also an oriental like our old girl was. It will have to be a cat that can rub along with a dog ok too as we may well end up adopting the dog from the kids partners’ house if dad does his permanent flit to Thailand. I don’t know, then there’s the cost to factor in. No I’m not going to factor cost in actually as where could money be better spent than cats 😆

Terrible to hear about the violence, it's just such a shame that a minority ruins things for the rest.
It sounds like you are still processing but you will love another cat. There's no replacement but there's a part of home that only a pet can fill. I didn't get my cats from a rescue, don't regret it, my cats are the best.4 -
Thanks guys, KP your cats are great 😆I think I’m leaning toward getting a young cat or kitten probably so it can be used to being mainly indoors and get used to the dog. Will keep looking and thinking about it, but wow it used to be you would need to find people to take on kittens years ago, now they are like gold dust and people are selling them for £££.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4
