Hi BH, I’ve considered it constantly 😩 I’m worried about writing the wrong thing or putting pressure on to be honest, so I send regular messages at the moment - nice ones of course ❤️
Well it looks like I should have done the washing yesterday after all as its raining now 😳 perhaps I will list some more stuff on vinted, I’m trying to rid myself of having so many clothes! I need to sort out some cruise stuff for September like booking parking etc. and also might see if I can book a night away in with my tesc0 hotel voucher, its only for £30 so will need to add to it, but am trying to keep busy and doing stuff. I’m still on a mission to fill the fridge door with postcards of where we have been this year, its going quite well so far but cruise holidays are cheating a bit as you stop at so many places 🤣MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
Morning @newgirly,
Sorry to hear of your situation - family fallouts can be really challenging to navigate. I won't add to advice already given but just sharing some sympathies. My own relationship with siblings and dad can be strained / distant at times. Ours is mainly due to my dad and his poor parenting skills. Please try not to let your holiday be ruined because of the situ.

Thank you Queen of the hive, I’m sorry to hear you have had issues it seems its such a common thing ❤️
Horrid hot weather today 🥵 dh was at work (hobby work not proper work) this morning. He spent all day finishing smashing up the hot tub in the heat yesterday and today we have done many tip trips. There’s still at least one more to go tomorrow but we are getting there slowly. Once its all done I will jet wash it, it was a bit grim underneath! I did list the steps on the local regifting site but someone took them who was walking past literally seconds after me putting them out 😆Dinner today is early due to lack of lunch and was a cheese sarnie, crisps and a strawberry “cheesecake” dessert, fat free thick greek yoghurt with sliced strawberries and two bashed up custard creams mixed together 😋
I do have some news today, my parents are getting a new car and have offered us theirs at a very big discount. Its 18 months old and a plug in hybrid so we can still have the electric day to day but with the option to use petrol for holidays. It would mean selling ours and adding probably 3- 4k extra to buy it, but getting a car at over 50% off what its worth. Tax is more - lots more for the next 3 1/2 years as its a new big car so an extra £425 per year on top 😱 insurance is £250 more per year. But its a top of the range very low emission car that will enable us to get to york more often (driving after work etc.) and potentially going further for days out and weekends away easier. On balance its too good an offer to refuse really, it would not need replacing for a really long time, but now I need to work out the logistics of it all and how to pay for it. Its not the best timing right now but its a one time offer and exactly the kind of car we would have wanted if we had the money.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
Great news on the car.

I’ve got a rough plan more or less worked out, I will have another look again and set some paying off targets then I can resurrect my monthly updates 😬Not much to report really, mooching around in the heat this week is just about all I’ve done. I did go for an early morning walk yesterday as I’ve got out of the habit lately 🙄 but haven’t wanted to do too much, got to look after my expensive heart or at or at least thats my excuse for laziness in hot weather 🤣
Its the last day of the month tomorrow and I foresee no more grocery spending so can confim I’ve just scraped in under budget 🥳 with a total spend of £493.43 /£500. This is a lot higher budget than we used to spend and now its just us and the cats! Now there is a grocery pot for the month so I use the current account and transfer it from the pot every time. Previously it was the cc and other extra bits would work their way in plus I couldn't start the budget on the first of the month easily due to when the statement date was so all in all its been easier. I would say though we could be spending less, I am sure half that bill is due to my consumption of blueberries and strawberries 😁Anyway, I think a little mini challenge might be in order for next month,I just need to decide what it should be 🤔

Maybe growing some blueberries and strawberries 🤣???

😆 I tried strawberries last year, I ended up with two 😁
Busy week, we sold the car yesterday (mOtorway) the dealer rang to collect as they were nearby last night and then spent an hour looking and wanted a reduction as the overdue service light was on - which was listed in the particulars as you have to be very accurate, so Dh refused, how annoying! I will ring and get it relisted today.
It was my friends birthday Tuesday so we and best friend went out for coffee and lunch at the big shopping centre in Kent that shes never been to, had a lovely day and felt like a teenager again as we tried on dresses (she needed one for a wedding) and even had a photobooth photo taken together, it was lovely 😊Other than that theres not much to report, yesterday I cleared out a few bedroom drawers of toot, I don’t like waste so keep hold of things- make up I’ve bought that didn’t suit me (hardly wear it anyway now) , old hairbands etc. it pains me to throw it but thats what I’ve done as its not easy to rehome. If its not being used there’s no point in having it, so its small steps forward in the decluttering and improving of the house…MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7
