I never buy watermelon because the price per kilo scares me. You've inspired me to weigh one next time! Lol

🤣😂 any time ng, leftover pizza and some new chips tonight I think
Bnq were completely sold out so I was v surprised to see some at the door in the r@nge. Not that I was particularly looking, but it made sense to get one. They also still had a couple of paddling pools. It wasn't the fact they were Paw Patrol and we are both 60 with no children/grand children, it was the £6.99 price tag 😆
It is strange how a basic new build replicated over and over up in all the various parts of the country can have such different prices. Its completely mad when you think about it. We are a small island, you shouldn't see the same house square footage with a price difference in the hundreds of thousands

Haha, yes SC I guess I could cutting up the melon first 😆 I feel like it’s fresher for longer doing it bit by bit though 🤷♀️ and no I hate cleaning the fridge 😩
Bargain hunter, this was priced per melon not by weight which is why I bought it, I too am wary of melons that need weighing 😂
Hi Daisy, pool and pizza party it is then 😬
Dh is not at work today ( loosely using the term work when it’s the weekend popping into do bits) and yesterday suggested doing something. We could drive out to see work friend by the coast but we usually give him notice, could go anyway and see him if he’s there I guess, but will it be too hot? It’s tiny town so one main street really so would probably be a quick visit with a drink or lunch in one of the pubs there. It’s also the launch date of the third new housing estate next to the one we looked at last week, we are not going to move probably but I am nosey 🤔 either way I fancy a nice dinner in front of the tv tonight and my new fan. I feel like it’s a good fan but would have been happier if it was way cheaper, next weeks nightmare heat will be the test to see if it was worth the extra….MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
We had a lovely day on Saturday, work friend insisted on buying us breakfast and I was going to pay, we will pay the next two times as he’s on his own. We walked up to the tiny beach behind the high street and I spent a lot of time looking at houses , if only it wasn’t so far from everyone and had a hospital nearer 😩
Lazy day yesterday and an exciting night watching England play! The cats used me being up as an excuse to mess about and preceded to knock over the cat feeder spilling everything and then one got shut in the kitchen, so the other had to come and get me to rescue her. They love to make trouble in the night those two 😆
Today I’m taking mum out as usual, I’m really wanting to go to the big yellow store too but she won’t want to do that so I may go back this afternoon by myself. I would like to get a cheap flat white smooth table for the back bedroom as I’ve decided to set up my sewing machine (that dh bought me years ago and I’ve used once) and teach myself to sew. I need a hobby and it’s a lovely big bright room with just my bootsale wash stand and some plants in it so there’s space, why not eh!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -

and one like this for the actual sewing as being able to have your machine set lower so the material is not getting dragged out the needle by its own weight is very handy

the only other thing id say- a good pair of scissors and write 'fabric' on the blade so you only ever use those for cutting material. Never ever let anyone else in the house know they are there. Somebody will think 'oh ill just use these to cut this, save me going looking for a pair elsewhere' then you will have to gut them like a fish. Luckily you won't worry about using your material scissors for this task since they are already ruined !

I totally agree about fabric scissors I am the same do not touch them. Sewing is a lovely hobby but it is not something you can just dip in and out of easily as you need the set up of iron, sewing machine, overlocker etc unless you have space for it all to leave it out. I am not sewing much at the moment as I am now knitting which I find easier to just pick up and I can do it while watching telly or travelling etc.
Another trap with sewing as with all hobbies you end up with multiple projects and buying too much fabric which is super expensive. That is also a reason I am not sewing much now it just got so expensive but I do actually have several unused fabrics to make things from.
