Definitely do not offer to have mil. Thankless, exhausting job and one you cannot get away from once you've agreed it.
Encourage little brother to speak up on his own behalf to the medical people telling them to ignore what mil is saying.

Do not agree to have your MIL. I had my mother for 6 weeks after she had surgery earlier this year and I was absolutely demented. True story.

It was a passing guilty feeling rather than a plan, but thank you for everyone as I don’t feel as bad now. I went again with dh yesterday and managed a quick chat with a nurse who seems to think she will be home soon with carers, so long as the inlaws agree (and agree to pay!) I think they need more but I’m certain they won’t agree to respite care.
Finances time 🙂 the factory being rented out has meant more coming in a month finally - hooray! So its now a debt repayment diary for the next few months 🤣 looks like we can be debt free by the end of July potentially? I’ve made a couple of payments already this month so we will now be down to £6266.52 by the end of April when I’ve made a couple more payments as the wages come in. Not that long ago we were at over £13k so im happy its now coming back down again, I hate being in debt. Its all interest free and we should be perhaps saving it and paying it off at the end of the interest free period but I just want it gone and a new plan started which actually involves fun as thats what the diary says I should be having more of 😆
Big food shop done at Aldi by the hospital last night, no cheap Easter veg though, did all the deals end Easter sunday? If so I’m very annoyed with myself 😏 spent £59.27 plus ordered shampoo and posh teabags as a treat on am@zon £13.27 as well as some hospital parking again £14.30, also had to send dh an extra £100 this month to try and help out with his charges as he's going everyday. Spent a few bits on treats and a nightie for her which she wont wear too 😆 Oh and I nearly forgot I've ordered a new bedroom tv, ours has just sound now and no picture and as I watch tv upstairs often I don’t want to do without it, I have gone up to a bigger size as our old one is smaller and the other side of the room, so I cant read stuff on it easily. No idea whats a good tv (all ours are second and even third hand 🤣) so I went for an am@zon fire one, free delivery and I’m paying over five months at £36 pm from my personal spending money. Now I have splurged on that I shall try and have a more frugal next few months 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
newgirly- as far as I am aware the Easter veg offers ended on Saturday or Sunday - 5th or 6th, different shops gave different dates, sorry ☹️ However, in MrL yesterday, they still had….. parsnips and swedes in the PoTW section, priced at 8p each, but whether that was 'that store' specific, or they hadn't sold as many as they needed, I couldn't say.

I suspected I missed the boat on that GP, very annoying 😩 I’ve run out of my freezer full of prepped xmas veg so that would have been handy, more room for ice lollies though so there is a bright side 😬
🤣 You will get there SC ❤️
I think I should start a new diary called pay off mortgage and have a mid life crisis, its probably more realistic 😂
The new TV is due lunchtime today, thank goodness as I do spend a lot if time upstairs and either have podcasts / music or the tv on all the time, I don’t much care for quiet ALL the time now we have an empty house. I might do a bit of vinted listing today and some cleaning and washing but other than that its going to be a lazy day at home 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -

Ok Daisy 😆
No best friend for coffee today , shes selfishly gone away 🥲 I should really visit mil today, will see what time I get back from popping to the shops, I’m going to h0me bargains to get some washing liquid and get out the house for a bit.The tv turned up - delivered next door and didn't show as delivered online so I sat downstairs for hours waiting, usually parcels are left behind the bin so I didn’t want to risk it. Turns out it is too big, as I thought it would be 🤣 currently its sitting on box it arrived in as the feet are too wide for the angle I want it at, we may have to turn the drawers its on or have it on a retractable arm. On the plus side the sound is so much better than our very old one plus I can see it properly.
Did some batch cooking, what should have been two portions each of chicken mushroom and spinach tikka and then thai green curry but as dh is a big eater for dinner thats one portion pf each, plus around 3/4 of spag bol. We should be able to get to next week when we go away without a big shop now. Talking of which I have booked something splurgey for us while we are away - 2 hour spa passes 🙂 dh will go and enjoy it, even if his face dropped a little when I told him 🤣 we have done it once before and it was a lovely indoor relaxation area and bubbly pool thingy, price started at £49 each when we booked but I’ve waited and with loyalty discount paid £57.36 for both of us, its still dear enough! I’m taking it from the grocery budget as we are away for a week, if needs be I will refund the pot from birthday money.

It’s a crusie to northern spain with and france for a week SC, I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it and its just the two of us 😊
This morning we have the accountant at our house for the first time (no factory to use) so I spent all day tidying and cleaning yesterday🤣 There’s probably lots of questions I should ask but I’m not sure what yet 😳 Perhaps how much would we get net if dh didn’t work and we lived off just the rent? his guess must be better than mine and useful if we are trying to work out how long until dh can retire.
Mil is still in hospital, I went Friday to see her, dh is still going everyday which is getting a lot with work as well. Looks like she will be out in a week or so they have said but with no care plan given as yet, the nurse seemed to think carers will be going in. Mil is in a panic as she was being asked about their house, I just hope they don’t shut down help because of money. Older son who is “in charge” has been down once (lives two hours away, doesn't work weekends) so far, but not this weekend or next - which is while we are away as he’s busy.
Anyway, hopefully dh can I can manage at least a coffee together at some point today, I’ve really not seen him lately 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
