Haha, who knows maybe they have been 😆

Well we have spent half they day today at hospital visiting mil who has fallen over and broken both hands and wrists plus some ribs and has a punctured lung 😕 it happened a few days ago and luckily dhs younger brother was there at the time and drove her to hospital (no ambualnces!). Dh has been there a lot, including most of the night the first night, younger brother is at home with fil. Who knows whats on the cards as they have refused all care up to now.
Hospital are aware shes the main carer for fil, so hopefully everything that needs putting in place will get sorted out, they cant let her out as she is with no help.

Good job we never booked the Easter night away in the end!

I really hope so SC, ages ago dh got as far as having aids delivered and adjustments made by the local social services, within a week fil had made them come back and remove it all, stubborn doesn’t begin to cover it unfortunately. They will now have no options realistically to maintain control over what happens, its a rather sad and scary situation to be in, but sadly in many respects it was a matter of time until something happened ☹️

Sorry to hear about her accident, she's done a big one to herself.

Its such a shame when people think they can overcome age by refusing to deal with it. Much better to gracefully accept it slightly before its needed ggiving you time to adapt, rather than have it forced upon you. I cant think it will be an easy time for dh, his brothers and fil but I hope I'm wrong and he is grateful this time for his sons trying to help. (I hope also dh and his brothers can present a united front as I know thats been an issue before)

Totally agree with Teapot! Do not step up for looking after MiL. I’m not sure your health, mental or physical, could take it ….

I’m intrigued by the garden plans … 🤔 Your patch sounds like quite a decent size. Why do you want to get rid of the conservatory?
