I'm also a list person 🤣 we have a chalkboard in our kitchen where we write down things we're out of or nearly out of that I would probably forget to buy if it wasn't written down (i then take a photo of it for when I'm shoppong) I also do a meal plan, so I know what food to buy and we won't waste anything. I might be a bit of weirdo 🤣

I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!

Not weird at all, that's exactly what I do too! How do you know what you need to buy if you don't know what you're going to eat 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I'm a list person, but still manage to forget items 😳

I've moved away from meal planning - I used to (pre child) try to do it for a month 😱 - not because it isn't a really good thing to do, but if I am lucky enough to get something YS'd or perhaps a green box from MrL, I'm finding it better to have a few 'known' recipes to rely on and I can chop/change what we have in response to the ingredients I have. I'm not very good at having the same thing several days on the run (my bad), but I find it helpful to have a few base recipes. I totally agree with planning to avoid food waste too Jessy. I'm far from perfect, and do occasionally waste things, but certainly try to keep it to a minimum.

When I write a list (and it’s not often now) I do it in aisle order….you can guarantee that’s the week they’ve changed the layout of the store.

we use an app called Bring for our shopping list on our phones.

We can both add to it and then whoever is in the shop can pick items up without having to remember the physical paper list.

It works on apple and android and syncs between them .

We have even gone together, then split up and got half the items each as you can cross them off once in your basket, so if we each cover half the store we know whats left to pick up

My son uses google and shouts hey google add ***** to the shopping list. Then they can see when in the shop whats on the list on their phones

How can you know what you'll fancy in a week's time? I struggle sometimes to figure out what I fancy to eat the same night! 😆

I'm definitely a wing-it kinda person - but, even so, very, very rarely have food waste, as I'll mop up random bits into something else or use them up for lunch.

I sometimes write a list, sometimes not - but I never, ever stick to my list! 😯🙈 I am definitely seduced by offers and YS items 😁

If I agree a meal with DH in the morning he often changes his mind in the day - if I've defrosted or prepped something he'll just eat something else anyway. We both grew up in very poor households and know that this partly what drives our overflowing food stores and we like to have choices. I, however, love leftovers, whereas DH will rarely touch them.

It would be very rare for us to run out of any non- food items (eg shampoo or cleaning products) as I often buy in multiples when I see a decent offer.
