I donβt know what you mean πDaisy I did have a list in my head but itβs now an actual list of whatβs left to buy π¬ it should be more or less covered but Iβve put chocolate at the top of the list just to be on the safe side, priorities need to be right.ΒToday has seen a lot of time wasting, at the gp and the chemist. My flu/Covid jabs booking was only for flu , apparently they did joint jabs yesterday and are doing them tomorrow but wouldnβt do today so I just had one?! Managed to get an appointment for tomorrow for the Covid one but they were unsure if they would have run our or not so Iβm going anyway π my repeat prescription is yet again for two weeks and yet again I was asked why Iβve run out again already- I use two weeks worth over the course of two weeks π plus I need to take my physical book from hospital to the doctors to be photocopied in person to get a repeat as it canβt be reordered online or even in person without the book, a right faff and itβs one Iβll be in for life. Then the chemist took 40mins to hand it over π©
Other than that Iβve just been cooking up a whatβs left over veg curry for myself and drinking hot chocolate πMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! ππ3 -
That's crazy on the prescriptions, completely impractical for all parties I would have thought π€·ββοΈ I hope you're either getting them free or you've bought a pre-payment cert? The cost of a prescription is insane these daysMortgage start: Β£65,495 (March 2016)

I know sc, doesnβt seem fair for those who are elderly and have to get there, although the receptionist says hardly anyone if on these tablets, seems a silly system though.ΒWent to the boot sale for a wander this morning, Β£4 spent on two crystal brandy glasses to add to the collection, should have enough now I think and I found the change in an old bag so free money, plus took my own coffee as usual π
Dh has been doing a bit of painting downstairs today, Iβve been steaming all his holiday clothes, sounds a bit fancy but I donβt do ironing anymore at all and he rarely wears smart stuff so itβs all wedged in his wardrobe screwed up. Now itβs all done and ready to pack, itβs so much easier for men, he wears trousers a tops and stays the same size, unlike meβ¦.
Iβm currently very broke in the personal spends department, down to Β£5.78 until about the 20th oh plus a Β£10 m@s voucher π© I may have to borrow from next months Β£100 personal budget. Iβve spent Β£99.59 / Β£333.33 October budget so far and have asked dd and sil round for bake offβs bread week which means olives, cheese, wine, and homemade chilli bread plus some form of dessert or sweets after, that wonβt help the budget much this week, plus I will be taking dessert to a friends for dinner in Thursday, that will be something fairly simple though I think.ΒVinted selling is trickling along very slowly now and the total stands at Β£858.17 this is very pleasing I have to say but it still feels untouchable π¬ I should really spend it before we are mortgage free as it will probably be appreciated more at the moment not when we have extra money! But what on?!ΒMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! ππ4 -

Thanks π
Lots of shopping for nibbly and cheesy bits today, I canβt bear to say how much Iβve spent but the grocery budget took a hit π still need to get a couple of cheeses and make the chilli bread tomorrow, then itβs time to have a mid week trial run of what Iβm doing Xmas day π specifically Iβm looking forward to the cheddar and cider baking pot, I had it last year and it was very good so bought another in m@s today, then went to Lidl and found it there a couple of pounds cheaper, no idea which one I had and liked last year so will need to try both so I know what to buy next time π¬
Also posted a few parcels, took mum shopping, dyed my hair for holiday, sorted some washing, packed dhβs case and cooked a sausage and ale casserole with an awful lot of sweetΒ potato in (we have loads of the things, not sure why!) for dhβs dinner later , if he ever comes home from work. Chucked in some butter beans and tinned mushrooms to bulk it out a bit so will have some for the freezer too.Β

Oops, I got distracted and came back to a deleted post π©
Bake off night went really well, way more got eaten than I expected and the chilli bread ended up being better than ever after I accidentally tipped a ton of chilli flakes into the bm π it really was an avalanche and after the chilli powder too, it gave son in law a sweaty brow but the rest of us loved it. As often happens we didnβt managed to actually see a lot of bake off due to the chat and banter that goes on when there a few of us here, so Iβll catch up today π
Itβs my five month anniversary since the heart valve operation today, Iβm feeling almost back to normal apart from the odd ache or pain around the collarbone and shoulder, amazing! I feel so very lucky getting it done so quickly, I know it would have got done through the nhs at some point but after reading the BHF forums I know that it can still take a while even if you are at the most serious level which I was. Just the initial consultation letter was something like five months after diagnosis, never mind when I would have got booked in for it which is crazy in such an urgent situation. There does seem quite a disparity with heart wait times and cancer pathways, I was seen on a two week cancer pathway a few years ago which was fantastic and was all clear, but what I had this time (dh was told by surgeon after op) would have untreated killed me in less than a year and is more deadly than most untreated cancers, so I really donβt understand why people are forced to wait so long for even the most basic of tests βΉοΈAnyway on a lighter note Iβm feeling quite thankful today and am also very much looking forward to the what feels Β like long awaited moment of getting back on a cruise ship this weekend and just getting up really early getting a coffee and watching the waves from the top deck while thereβs nobody around, I honestly feel like a kid on Xmas day π¬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! ππ6 -
Hi newgirly! It's been an absolute age since I was active on this board, so I totally missed your operation! I'm so glad to hear you're recovering well, that must have been really difficult.Β
Excited to hear about your chilli bread too!Β
