    Everyone welcome 🥳

Off to hospital clinic first thing and not looking forward to the buses, going in the sunshine in the school holidays is very different to rush hour in the rain with millions of teenagers going to school/college and  the hospital car park has reopened but our local Facebook says it’s carnage there, letting cars in while there’s no spaces and then they can’t drive straight out as they haven’t paid so huge queues 😩

Sold a few more vinted bits since the weekend, plus mum gave me a bag of old very posh bits, annoying how little they go for really, but I’ve decided I’ve so much stuff I may as well take whatever offers that come rather then haggling sometimes, I’m drowning in clothes now. Just accepted an offer on a Karen millen black dress for £7.20 goodness knows how much she paid for it, she doesn’t want the money so I’ll buy some flowers.

Plans today are after hospital are seeing best friend for a coffee, then cleaning up the house, dh has painted the ceilings in the living/dining room and cleaned the inside of the conservancy and roof - I can’t do this , partly because my arms still ache but mainly as this is where the spiders all hang out 😱 it now looks like we have a new conservatory but everything else of filthy 😆 he’s done a good job though, he’s very DIY reluctant in recent years,  I odd say I’d paint the walls but know if I do I’ll suffer afterwards and I’m still so stiff.

I need to check the finances but I know £35 odd was spent in l@dl yesterday, plus there was a £5 off £40 in my app 😁 that only leaves us a few pounds now I believe.

Well it’s still raining here, it’s been non stop. It’s mums birthday today so dads treating us to a light lunch at her favourite place which will be a nice mid week treat 😊

Yesterday i took a look at the finances, we are now almost at the 6 month left point 😱 this is exciting, but I’ve also made things difficult for myself by doing Xmas and booking a couple of trips away  😆 ds1 and dd have still not booked their heart scans and annoyingly the new 0% new cc I was putting them all on has now run out of time for the opening offer, so i need to juggle the last 6 months somehow to pay. I shan’t be saying anything as I feel they are reluctant to get them done anyway and I’m very keen….

So I need to work out what to do, I’ve also got to look at our Xmas costs and budget, it was always going to be a bit of a splurge I must admit but it’s been literally years in the making 😆 I’ve booked my slot for an M&S pick up Xmas eve morning and ordered the turkey and some fancy desserts plus Cornish cruncher cauliflower cheese and brussel sprout gratin 🥰 usually wouldn’t  buy ready done bits like this but I’m saving my energy for other food things at xmas! Dil and I also thought we would have a go at making a small chocolate or gingerbread Xmas village, I’ve ordered a house shaped cake so thought we would use that as a centrepiece, depends how much the moulds are, I’ve only a large house one already. Most of this money so far is coming from the £1 a day savings pot I started at the start of last December.

The big vinted effort is paying off, I’ve sold lots since the weekend 😬 still so much left that gets “stuck” at a pound , eventually I’ll gather up what’s not selling and split it between charity shop and cash for clothes (which pay pennies 😳) still that would have been my go to before vinted as fleabay was such a pain with the post office and and guessing what to charge for sending things, this is so much less time consuming. I’ve also received the glittery evening dress I ordered (£6) wow it’s lovely but is literally showering everything with glitter 😂I’ve had to hover after just getting it out of the bag. They do this style in a plain satin so I’m going to get one of those instead , then I can wear it for Xmas at home, there’s no way I’m wearing the other one at home or someone else’s house, I might sell on the messy one 😆

Mini to do list for today :

    Post five parcels

    make spag bol

wrap mums presents and see her

work out how to pay for scans and not add a month mortgage or raid the vinted pot

check all medications and order what I can on app (some need to go in person to gp every time!)

have a look at what I need for mini cruise, probably got it all already but pull out some clothes

Ooh sparkly dress sounds lovely but a pain in the neck.  However before you buy.....just double check whether you will like a plain satin dress by trying on a satin nightie or camisole and imagine it as a full dress that you will wear in front of people.  I've found satin highlights lumps and bumps because its a bit shiny and I think self coloured will be worse than a pattern.  You might have the perfect figure for it but I know I wouldn't :)

Thanks daisy, I know what you mean I would normally avoid it for those very reasons 😆 however this particular one from new l@@k dd had years ago and it’s quite thick and pleated and swings out so I know it should be ok, I could have borrowed hers however she’s very slim and I am not 😂 I’ve offered on a few today with no luck so far, however it seems a lot of people list stuff on there and then disappear for months on end 😩 it’s one they still sell so there’s a lot of them in different colours, I shall persevere!

aw that sounds lovely ng, know what you mean about folk advertising then disappearing.   I messaged about something on my local gumtree the day something was advertised  and a month later she still hasn't been back on.  🤷‍♀️   weird folk

  • I've contacted two businesses about expensive things I want to pay them for recently and not had any response....🙁 Why don't people want our money any more???

Is a second 0% card an option, NG? I say this as someone who currently has 5 😬

  • Loving the charcuterie board, I am eyeing up ones I saw in France earlier in the year, luckliy my luggage was already rammed, However I  may be going back as I am still thinking of it - it was wood with a glazed end, lots of great lengths and shapes.

Well done on the vinted sales, v inspiring - I have 12 things up but nothing is moving so may need to bring prices down.. I also need to add more.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
