I know it’s a rip off, but I think I’d rather not risk getting a bigger bill onboard, just a shame I can’t get the most out of it as I would have in the old days 😆

Cruise sounds fab. We are having similar thinking about whether it's worth upgrading from HB to AI on our next holiday. We definitely wouldn't spend the difference in price if we went HB then bought as we went but I think I'd say no to too much, go hungry at lunchtime and end up with a migraine from not eating! Will mull it over though as children don't have as many drinks/ice creams these days and we have to pay adult upgrade price for dd.

Hi Cath, I think it depends if you know how much it will be when you are there as well, it s a bit harder to get prices when it’s a hotel sometimes? I think for relaxation purposes while you are away it’s sometimes nice to know what you are spending. Although saying that we once went on an American cruiseline for three nights that was really dear for drinks so we got the package at over £50 each a day  and this was years ago, I remember having three large glasses of wine at lunchtime (trying to get my moneys worth 😆) then fell asleep all afternoon! Not the point of going away 😂

Well the weather has turned very wet here today, luckily all the washing was dried yesterday and Saturday. I got taken out by ds2 and dil to the cinema to see a new film “the substance” which was a really great film, not for the faint hearted it was a body horror but with some great messages about women and how they are viewed by themselves and men. The most shocking part of the film though was the price of a pumpkin spiced latte that dil bought us both, £11.24 for 2x medium sized pumpkin lattes AFTER a 25% discount with the cineworld passes 😱 I went into slight shock at the till and may have commented 😂 the lady behind the till says she can’t afford them and doesn’t even get a free coffee even though she works there which seems a bit rough. Anyway, this lapse in judgement is a one off as we usually take our own teas or hot chocolate from home, they don’t mind at our cinema, we turn up with water bottles and thermal mugs all the time, lesson learned! 

Afterwards we went to a nearby huge charity shop I’d never been to before, I got a (new) glass patterned dish for MIl for Xmas, a couple of books for £1 and 2 x £1.99 new ceramic coasters with Xmas pictures of animals on for myself and dil, really cute and nice to have on a bedside table. 

Plans today are to check the finances as I’ve got carried away as usual, plus see what clothes I might want to pack for the mini cruise, this is one of my favourite parts tragically 😬

Well I had a very dull weekend, I spent yesterday steaming and listing another 46 items of clothing 😳 this is many years of bits I’m working through, there’s now nothing in the garage as it’s gone, the shed, and very minimal bits in the loft space, just coats I think. I am a clothes hoarder, I keep for years “just incase”. Still a dress £7 and a blouse sold for £4.50 so more in the pot. The savings pot stands at £565.19 now with a few more bits still to pay out. I’m not sure what I’m saving it up for yet, but it should be a treat after the amount of time that’s gone into earning it 😆

Did a food shop in bed last night but fell asleep before checking out so now can’t click and collect it today on the way back from the shops 😂 so will drag mum to l!dl instead, I might get some their green Thai paste there’s as the butter bean and cauliflower/broccoli  curry was so easy last week and ds2 and dil enjoyed it plus it’s cheap and healthy, the chicken one I used to do for them when ds1 and girlfriend lived here too would cost a fortune, little mini corns, packs for chicken etc. it would be £20 odd all in 😱

I forgot to mention yesterday that saturaday I went to the garden centre to get my fancy charcuterie board, I can’t find them cheaper the same size online, but when I got there they had some for £16 each that were longer but thinner than the £38 one, so I got two of those which can be put together and run down the centre of the table so even bigger 😬 I also bought dh a thick round rustic dark teak board for £9  as a Xmas present as he’s so hard to buy for but loves cheese and crackers, I shall do him a little hamper with some chutney etc, to go with it for after Xmas. Anyway a whopping £41 spent on cheese boards, but exciting times ahead planning it all 🌲 I’m trying to copy what we had in York while away, I’ll post a photo of o can find one.
