It's been a busy few days for me. Another £6.35 banked from prolific. Sold some fabric and a gyroball on faceache so that's another £8 in the pot. I have been fairly frugal which is good - writing and monitoring my spends has really got me thinking about what I am spending - self adjusting my spending because I am being forced to confront and I'm loving doing little payments here and there, really helping to see my debt go down, even if only slightly.

I'm off out for a run this morning - got to get my running mojo back, just 5k with my best mate. Then my partner is going to list a few items of furniture on facebook for me - hoping I may get another £50 or so from these. I'm slowly working my way through my to do list - I'm looking forward to moving, but I also just want the stress out the way, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I can't believe I have only got about 2 weeks!

Oh and pre-release material for GCSE exams has been released so I need to reorganise our plan for the next 12 teaching weeks to make sure we cover everything and put it in a helpful format for the students. Busy busy busy!

  • You've totally got this! I know it's stressful but it will all be worth it in the end - just keep focusing on that end-game :)

I wish I could run, but I'm far too old, unfit and overweight to even attempt it. Not sure my knees would hold!

Very busy indeed. Just remind yourself of the extra income you're gonna get before this move (referring to one of your earlier posts)... the stress will definitely be worth it!

Just touching base to keep myself on the straight and narrow. Managed to sell a couple of pieces of furniture that are being collected on Saturday, so that will be another £45 in the pot - I'll add it when I get it. Pleased with my money progress so far 😊 I'll do latest totals tomorrow afternoon.

Really anxious about work tomorrow. Had an awful lesson with some horribly behaved students last Friday which left me shaking at the end of the lesson. Tomorrow will be my first lesson with them since then. Really worried... And I've been teaching for 15+ years. A class shouldn't make me feel like this.
Anyway, bed time ... Wish me luck in the morning!

  • Lots of luck!! I have no idea how you teachers do it, I'm terrified of kids

I survived. Sometimes working with teenagers is hard work. Today is about more decluttering and more packing 😊

Moving bed and sofa over to partners tomorrow. Exciting times.

Just had another few items picked up that I sold making my decluttering total £113.26 😊

  • That’s a good total so far for your decluttering! Keep at it x

Just checking in. It has been a busy few days. Moved my big furniture over to my partners house. So glad that's one big job out the way. Starting to make it home now :) and got an extra day off tomorrow due to storm Eunice, so plan to do some unpacking and organising.

Not really made much extra this week, but have so far managed to keep account in the black - if I can make it to the end of the month, I'll count that as overdraft done! Lots of other bits to worry about though. Prolific seems to have stopped and I've run out of things to sell for now. But life is starting to feel much more in order and my spreadsheet means I haven't spent anything for 3 days.

Off to theatre tonight. Can't wait!

  • Sounds like you’ve had a good week in terms of both finances and organisation, well done!

    Enjoy the theatre tonight :)

Feeling really good about things at the moment. I'm seeing my debts go down and I'm organising my life ☺️ decluttering and clearing out junk is strangely satisfying. Headphones on and clean clean clean today!
