I had a lovely day yesterday, spent a little bit on breakfast and a beer (not at the same time 😂) Really lovely day with my partner and best friend and partner. We spent two hours solving our CSI puzzle walking round town and got it right! Woo!!

And it's the end of the month... I have managed a whole month without chocolate, but only lost 1lb 😂 maybe Chocolate isn't my problem after all. In Feb I'm going to eat less bread and no crisps. Bread just leaves me bloated - the problem is, it's easy. So I need to get organised with alternatives. And I'm going to try for 10000 steps a day. I used to do loads but lost my get up and go a bit.

Moneywise - CC down to £333 (plan to clear with normal monthly payment and council tax this month)
    Overdraft down to £500
Aim for both of these to be clear by end of march with focus then on other card.
And 10% of any excess to build emergency fund back up.

Off to do some more exam marking today, before a walk to the car and a trip to the shops.

    Happy Sunday

Well done on your progress so far. Also ... love the hat!  :)
    Debt at LBM July 2017  - £42,002 (cards & loans) + £37,421 (2 mortgage consolidations)
    Car bought in Dec 2020 - £12,500
Total Debt - £54,502  (£91,923 including mortgage consolidations)

    Total Debt Jan '23 - £19,061.56 (credit cards) + £20,562 (mortgage consolidations)

Consolidated debt onto my mortgage twice in the years before LBM, so it's all consumer debt. Just focusing on clearing card debt first and letting the additional mortgages reduce with the monthly payments.

    DFD (credit cards) - December 2024 (24 months) 🤞🤞🤞

It was by far the smallest debt - I wanted to do it just to keep me motivated. Next one will take a lot longer  :#

You'll get there - you are smashing it!

  • It all adds to the motivation though and keeps us on the right path!

I'm just chipping away at the debts slowly but surely.

    New month, new goal

My aim this month is to get the overdraft to 0 by next payday... currently account in black, but a few payments to come out so I think it'll need about £400-500 saved... I'm moving in with my partner at the end of the month so I'm hoping for a refund on TV licence, maybe (although wishful thinking) gas and electric and I'm not sure on water balance. However annoyingly I need to cancel internet which means early cancellation charge. He already has internet so we don't need both. But I'll be renting out my house, so come March, I should have a bit more to play with.

Time to finish my exam marking contract before dropping clothes at clothes bank and listing a few more things for sale.
