I have done it!!!!!! I have just made the last payment on my loan. I am debt free! ๐๐๐ย
It has taken me 20 months to pay off nearly ยฃ16k of debt and I feel amazing ๐คฉ I couldnโt have done it without the support of people on here reminding me that itโs ok to struggle and every penny counts. I donโt think I have been debt free for about 15yearsโฆ. Iโm still working out my next plan, but I am going to buy myself something nice to celebrate ๐ maybe some new shoes ๐.ยBut seriously, thank you all for your support - Iโll let you know what next ๐Debt as of 29/12/25

I would treat saving as your new "debt" and put money away immediately you get paid so you know how much you have to use for the usual bill spends, groceries etc.

I think Iโm going to start putting money in a savings account with a view to overpaying mortgage, itโs fixed at 2.5% until next July, so I think Iโd be better off putting in a savings account and making a payment before remortgaging.
