    Thanks @LittleMissDetermined

Really good to hear of success stories, thank you. I am slowly making progress and lots of ideas in the pipeline. Moving in with my partner soon which will allow us to have a bit more spare income so that will be focused towards debts. But keeping this diary really focuses me. Every penny counts right. I used to use zipzero, I got up to about £9 and now it's all gone to pending 😔 so stopped using. I was aiming for a tenner before cashing out. I'll look at those other apps.

I find prolific has been giving me about £10 a month - they don't seem to screen you out part way through. I can't be doing with the ones that do. Also started yougov but they only allow £50 cash out and I think that might only happen once every 6 months!

Just about to write a meal plan for the week, that should curb food spend a bit.

And my crochet blanket is coming along nicely - started making hats. If I get really good I might do a craft stall next Christmas.

Just dropping by to cheer you on and wish you good luck!

It's always the moment of despair, seeing our numbers, that gets us on and it looks like you're already on the roll. I found myself in a similar situation just last year and am itching again to declutter and make extra pennies. The challenge boards help a lot too. To be fair, the fact that we own to our debt and even create a diary is already progress enough.

And good luck on the spreadsheet! All the best :star:

Hi @anjyeah. I love to see others who have made progress with theirs. It really inspires me. I'll take a look at your diary later. Let's do this!

Thanks guys! I think I will aim to in Oct/Nov and earn some pennies for Christmas! I'm already getting a bit obsessed each evening when sat in front of TV :)

Just scrolling money saving challenges - sold a broken graphics tablet for £18 on ebay - I was just going to tip it, but thought someone might want to fix it. I was pleasantly surprised with that :)

  • I'm just learning to crochet and I'm finding it quite difficult to get into, I'm going to persevere and if I really can't get the hang of it I will start knitting instead as I used to do this as a child with my gran.

Well done on the eBay sale, one man's trash is the next man's treasure and all that. :)

I'm fairly new to it, but find it easier than when I tried to knit. I found it best to follow youtube videos and actually have a couple of work colleagues who also crochet - meant they could give me pointers. I'm not very good at straight edges yet ;)

You're doing really well! I remember when I tried knitting, I couldn't keep the correct tension and it all ended up really tight on my needles  :D Crochet sounds better, a craft fair sounds good, something to aim for  :)
    Debt at LBM July 2017  - £42,002 (cards & loans) + £37,421 (2 mortgage consolidations)
    Car bought in Dec 2020 - £12,500
Total Debt - £54,502  (£91,923 including mortgage consolidations)

    Total Debt Jan '23 - £19,061.56 (credit cards) + £20,562 (mortgage consolidations)

Consolidated debt onto my mortgage twice in the years before LBM, so it's all consumer debt. Just focusing on clearing card debt first and letting the additional mortgages reduce with the monthly payments.

    DFD (credit cards) - December 2024 (24 months) 🤞🤞🤞

  • I always thought they didn’t like you to have 2 banks at once, but I opened a Monzo without any issue. Maybe try an internet one like Monzo or starling and see if that helps?
