Hi. Can I join this challenge. I’m new to MSE Forum, but have read all the posts for this month and it’s great, how everyone encourages each other.
I hope that this will also spur me along to lose a couple of stone. I m also going to give the frugal living challenge a go, so 1st saving is not paying for a class but listening to all your advice for free.....
I’m not sure how to do the signature bit yet, or what all the abbreviations mean but will work it all out as I go along.
i hope to lose 7lb by 31/3/22. I weighed 12 st 1.5 lb yesterday, but a Friday will be my wd9 -
Extremely happy to report -1 1/2 lbs please Brambling.
It’s wine group again on Thursday and out for a friends birthday lunch on Friday,
I will have to chop off a limb to get a loss next week !
keep going everyone,we can do this !8 -
Well I was going to say I am hanging my head in shame....but I know that's not allowed so I won't.
I shall take my lead from @Sunfl0w3r and say I like purple. In fact I like it so much "When I grow old, I shall wear purple" is a favourite poem. And I have purple hair, albeit very faded and in need of a fresh coat of dye.
All of which is me saying that I must report I have done absolutely nothing to improve my situation from the beginning of January. And as I was ignoring the fact that I had gained over Christmas I don't have just 7 pounds for my end of quarter goal but in fact have 12. So that's 5 purple dots to be added for me please @Brambling.
I know what the solution is - not just the less food, more steps - it's stop inhaling the carbs, increase the fibre and cut the alcohol. Most importantly convince him indoors that I cannot have bread, pasta, fries, desserts regularly. I need to convince him that there's no shame in him having a treat that I don't share. And I need to convince us both that we need to move around more.
So January is behind us (like my fat backside...) so that means we don't have to finish any more Christmas treats sweets or booze, we don't have to celebrate Burns Night. We can look forward to more daylight, getting the propane tank refilled and having bbqs (it's at least 6 weeks since the last and I've got withdrawal symptoms as I do like a bbq!), getting the garden sorted and spring flowers!

Morning All,
CCW Well done on joining the gym and that was an early start for swimming!
Eskarina That's a lot of exercise calories burnt! Best of luck for your Feb target
Frith It's always good when you start to feel the difference in your clothes
catfree Sorry you had a rubbish week and I hope things improve
Sunfl0w3r Well done for all the walking and good luck for dry Feb.
Hoosrice Welcome and best of luck
Sue Well done on the loss. I think that losing a limb would be a bit drastic, damage limitation is generally the best I hope for, but enjoy the wine group and birthday lunch.
I'm not sure if it's the most sensible way to go about things but, for various reasons, there have been a couple of days recently where I've not eaten all day so had my whole day's calories in my evening meal. Hopefully it won't have a negative effect.
At the moment it's that time of the month so I'm struggling not to stuff myself with carbs, carbs and more carbs. I'm just about winning the battle for now but it could go either way.
Best of luck everyone9 -
