Morning all,
Well done on your loss @annabanana82 and a new shiny! I find it helps to write down my meal plans. Good luck for this week x
@bubbs great haul of free food! I agree that it's the worry making you have a dickie tummy . My uncle had a stoma and got on fine with it - he was a bit younger than your Dad when he had it done though. Like you say, it's just the start. Sending all good wishes to your Dad x
Fish pie last night was lovely and there's a portion left which I've frozen.
Food today:
B - pineapple, apple, WM toast, jam - S, HEB, 1
L - sweet chilli chicken, lettuce, toms, pickles - 1, S
D - LO rigatoni bolonaise, parmesan, rhubarb crumble and custard mullerlight - P, S, HEA, 0.5
HEA - milk
Total syns - 2.5

Morning all. Dinner last night was really good, had no idea it was a Korean BBQ restaurant (DH booked it and they didn't have anything on their website so I was in the dark!) Lots of great vegetable side dishes and lean meat to grill (apart from the pork belly 😏) and all very tasty.
@maman I always thought my bolognese recipe tasted bland until a friend told me to put a tin of tomato puree and a grated carrot in it and it adds sweetness and a depth of flavour that was missing. Wouldn't make it any other way now.
Back to it today with ff yogurt for breakfast, indian roasted carrots with lentils for lunch and dinner is prawn linguine with roasted cherry tomatoes and some salad on the side. Back to proper work now so time for a coffee and better get on.

Morning all, need to pop out to get some fruit today as have completely run out; also need to buy a tin of kidney beans for dinner tonight as haven't got any in the cupboard - which is unusual as I usually replace as I use one up so no idea why I didn't!
Today's plan:
B - porridge; mixed frozen fruit and cherries - HEB; S; F
L - prawn and avocado salad - P; S; F; 9.5 (I'm still using up the wonky avocados I got in the TGTG bags a couple of weeks ago!)
D - jerk chicken; rice 'n' peas - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - porridge oats
Syns - avocado 9.5 (assuming I can get 100g of decent fruit out of it - they are certainly beginning to blacken now)
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, well done on your loss and new shiny @annabanana82 Take care of yourself Bubbs, it's good you've got DH and your sisters for support too.
Woke up starving this morning which is unusual for me so had a soft pitta (HEXB) with bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans for breakfast, tomato and red pepper soup from the freezer for lunch and dinner is Hunter's chicken using (HEXA) with roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and sweetcorn.
Does anyone make cabbage steaks? I'm assuming it's just like cauliflower steaks - slice, spray, season and put in the oven?0 -
Well done on your new shiny @annabanana82. Just keep plodding on week to week and you'll get there. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Are you sure your family aren't really professional chefs @bubbs?🤔 That chicken looks delicious and so beautifully presented. I'll certainly give it a try.
Glad you had a good time last night @ruby_eskimo, I know Korean food is a favourite of yours.
I added tomato puree as well as the tinned tomatoes to the pasta sauce and it was very tasty. The meatballs were a big success too. We've not had them in ages and I only made them with some LO mixture when I was doing the burgers. There was a small amount of sauce left which I'll have for my lunch with some stir fried veg and pasta.
Does anyone else feel there's always more in a tube of tomato puree than you can get out? 🤔 I know it's easier to get out of a tin but they always seem far more expensive per kg.
Never tried cabbage steaks @Jellybaby, assuming they'd just be slightly charred compared with cauliflower steaks which I often do.
Your lunch looks delicious @joedenise, amazing whet you got in that bag.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, fried eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S)
L- veg in pasta sauce (S), pasta (F), HEA 2 Parmesan
D- LO chicken (P), SW chips (F), roast veg (S)
Syns- 00 -
I've still got about 8 avocados left! Think we may end up taking some with us on holiday as there aren't any more ripe at the moment. Even one of the them today was barely ripe. DH said I ought to whizz them to make sure they're soft - not much use if they're not ripe though!
Absolutely agree with you about the tomato puree - no way you can get it all out but I suppose if you cut the bottom off and slit down the side you could probably scrape out a bit more but, MSE as that may be, I'm not going to those lengths!

You're right @bubbs, everything these days seems to assume that everyone is a computer whizz. I can see it's advantages but I think it's too soon for many people, especially the elderly accessing services they need. For some people, they don't even feel comfortable with a phone but customer service in person is disappearing rapidly. ☹️
Hope you enjoy your dinner as you haven't had much today. I ate the last bar of chocolate marzipan last night so temptation is gone. 😉0 -
Maman i did enjoy tea and so far so good stayed there 🤞
Mum was really worried about getting Dad to radiotherapy as have to go to another town and didn't want him on hospital transport all day. Age uk have volunteer transport drivers where you pay 45p a mile and sending the form to her to fill in. They were really lovely and told me all what is available if they need other help.
Mum understandably is very emotional and can't stop crying, Dad just goes don't worry 🙄Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
