Payday today. Salary was £xxxx.91 so that's 91p into the emregcny savings fund.

In my budgeting I round up my bills, so water is something like £27.13 but I note it as £28, so there'll always be a few pence knocking around to tilly over as bills go out during the month.
This is what I do gd and round off after spending but I'm being careful not to tidy too much at the min as my mega tidy last month used all my account buffer. Payday a week tomorrow so should be fine ☺️

  • When we build the buffer back up I won't be so nervous of doing more again. I feel we are nearly grown up @WinterWarrior. We need to cause some mischief 😁

Sorry I've been missing in action. Work manic just so I could have a couple of extra days off!

I've not actively been tidying but as both accounts round up spends, there's some that have gone in. 👍

I think it’s good. Easy to move money around if need be. The round up function is like others. Having the 1% cashback on debit card payments is an added bonus. I liked the fact that I could put money into a separate account for holiday, and then choose than account to make contactless payments.

I have suggested to them that for budgeting they allow the user to choose the beginning and ending of their “month”. Currently it’s only on calendar month, but I get paid on 24th of the month and I’d like to know what I spend during between paydays. They’ve said it would be useful functionality so is on their backlog

  • Happy Easter everyone! I’ve managed to tilly £14.11 so far in April. The account it goes into is right at the bottom of my account list so unless I expand the view within my app I don’t see it, it was quite a nice surprise when I just looked. Even just a few pence a day does add up nicely over time.

My milk frother arrived and went straight on eBay as my husband said I would use it once and then stick it in a cupboard, haha.

I’m trying to make the equivalent of £1 per day on surveys but it’s hard going. I use Curious Cat app and it seems to penalise you if you attempt lots of surveys which is a pain.

Focusing my efforts on overpaying my student loan to get that gone, if I let my monthly payments plod on I’ll have cleared it in September but I really want to get it to £0 in June. I’m pushing 40 and would really rather not have a student loan anymore given I graduated 16 years ago, haha.
