Went and put a beloved sleeveless jumper on today to discover that when I last washed the jumper, in the spring, I had accidentally shrunk it. It finished around my waist!!!!! Will be taking it down to my Mum who is 6 inches shorter than me, hopefully she can wear it.
So, I went out and bought a new jumper. I have come away from my usual palate of navy, silver grey and black and bought a dark green colour.Took five clothing items to be recycled plus had a £5 voucher. So received £10 off.5 coupons spent.I have finished the rib roll neck part of the poncho. When I next see my Mum hopefully she will be able to help guide me with the next part. (Wool already accounted for).

It was a fundraiser for the local food bank. I’m waiting for the email from our Treasurer, telling us how much we raised. (Usually around the £10k mark.). The choir donated the hire of the church, our time and our professionals’ time (conductor, organised, rehearsal accompanist). We choose a different local charity every year.
Sadly, no. It’s not on YouTube.

PS: Hope you all aren’t too cold today and that your “coal rations” are sufficient. We don’t have snow right now, just a major frost. The smart meter tells me that we’ve already spent £6.90 today on gas and electricity. That’s more than we used to spend in an entire winter’s day, a year ago."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Well done @PipneyJane for raising so much for the foodbank! 👏👏👏
I've been wearing my thermals under my winter clothes, so keeping nice and toasty, even if the house isn't! Our night storage heaters are old and not very efficient, so we bought a couple of plug in oil filled radiators with some of the money from HMGov. We switch one on in the living room for half an hour or so if we feel cold and it really does heat the room up nicely. DH feels the old more than I do, so he's wearing his very thick cardis over other layers, but all in all, we're doing ok so far.
We had a bit snow on Thursday afternoon which doesn't want to go, and another dusting last night. It's very icy though so we have to be careful if we go out.
Tomorrow I'm going to make an ice picture in the garden. I will collect pretty berries and leaves, put them in an old container with a bit of string to make a hanger, and cover with boiled water. When it freezes, left outside, I can hang it up and see how pretty it looks!2025 Fashion on the ration

@MrsCD, the ice picture sounds amazing! Pics, please, when it's done?
Wore my new cobweb-patterned jumper out to a restaurant last night, it was lovely and warm and looked quite smart. The meal itself was thanks to my Christmas bonus - a little 'us' time before the mad scramble of Christmas.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Just popping into the hall to thank @Laura_Elsewhere for the recommendation to keep in stock a pack of dishwasher salt. After joint efforts with my neighbour to clear our shared path I have liberally salted it to prevent black ice.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Another two coupons gone on a black and white scarf - recycled polyester, so hopefully not too ecologically disastrous. This is to go with an orange, black and white check overcoat that I've had ten years now and wear with black and orange gloves. So if you see someone up in the smoke who looks half chocolate orange, half everton mint, that will be me.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
