SO impressed with those knickers! I keep saying I'm going to make some, I've got a bag of Jersey scraps which either needs using or binning, I have got a pattern somewhere that I printed off. I don't know what's stopping me, I have lost/mislaid my sewing mojo.
Having work done on the house meant a lot of upheaval, stuff got parked in the sewing room that doesn't belong there, I think I need to set aside some time to sort it out. And yes, I know how lucky I am to have a 'sewing room' - it was a promise I made to myself when I moved. I really should be using it!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.6 -
Might I suggest fabric phone cases for the scraps- sort of slip in pouches with a button on the top to close. I have just got a new phone with an additional metal shell and glass front ( honestly it is a scam- a phone should be robust). I have been trying to buy something to keep it safe in my bag without success. The fabric would also mean it would be easily found. Love the fabric!
Keep safe everyone!7 -
Beautiful work @thriftwizard !
I have been AWOL, sorry. Hubby got a diagnosis of diabetes, so we've been in a sort of crisis mode state just trying to get through new stresses and new ways of doing things.
No clothing has been bought with my coupons, I have a pretty set rotation of things in my wardrobe. I really should buy Bras but I keep saying I'll wait til I've lost weight, and then dont try to lose weight!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

I crocheted covers for my cellphone (when I had one - I don't now) and my roommates' phones. Really helped.6

@PipneyJane Thanks for the advice re the belt, chuffed I didn't end up spending any coupons yet.
@thriftwizard those tops and knickers you made are lovely! You could use the off cuts for socks, headbands, scrunchies or dolls clothes.

Brilliant thinking, WeeNancy and Laura! I am a keen crocheter and have just the yarn in my stash. Vibrant yellow, turquoise and scarlet , left over from a hoodie I did for my small DGS as stripes to brighten a plain natural Aran yarn. And I know a ribbed stitch that will be just the thing. And no money spent, veryMSE.Keep safe everyone, and thanks Nancy and Laura.7

The knitted phone cover is fab!
@thriftwizard, I've seen videos of tiny scrapes sort of oversewn en masse to make new fabric... I think the one I saw made table mats.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thanks for all the ideas for the scraps, everyone; they'll keep me busy & well-entertained! A lovely 90s Fair-Isle-style cardi from E8ay arrived in the post this morning, completing my clothes-shopping for the year - hardly any of it bought new! Now to weed some things out of my "wardrobe" (actually just one chest of drawers & a hanging rail) to make space for the "new"...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7
