It does feel very odd and unsettling. Queen Elizabeth II was a constant in my life and it feels as if everything has shifted.
I have made a Victoria sponge and will leave it in the village hall for anyone who needs it.Stash busting challenge 2025: 0/100 £0/£100 Fashion on the ration 2025: 0/668 -
Just saw the banner on MSE:
That’s a lovely thing to say. Very thoughtful.

My heart goes out to anyone who had an effection for the Queen. I'm not a Royalist in anyway but I feel a deep sense of shock and loss so can only imagine how you're feeling today.

May I ask? Do clothes I purchased via Ebay carry a coupon spend? They're second hand but I've also bought them. I'm in a quandary.

Another coupon-free purchase here: I found a cream linen shirt in a charity shop. It's a bit big (was on the wrong sized hanger and I didn't have time to try on) but not much too big (oh dear). I'm deliberately seeking out linen as a natural fibre that seems to support a comfortable body temperature. the intent is to have something I can wear loose over jeans or for a layer under a jumper in the winter, so the fit doesn't matter too much.
Thank you very much for the Victoria sandwich, @keepcalmandcraft. I hope you didn't deplete your sugar too much, but the cake was very welcome!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good evening everyone. The Queen, may she rest in peace, reunited with her sole mate, Prince Phillip.Spent the first part of the weekend with my elderly aunt, who lives 90 miles away. Took her shopping on Saturday and spent three hours in M&S!She treated me to two new vests and I bought myself an additional two vest - thermal / long sleeved. It was on my list. Hopefully, I won't need any new ones next year. 12 coupons used.Total 101/66!!!!
I took my aunt some runner beans, freshly picked from the garden.
Brought home two bags of apples. Spent many hours peeling and stewing them down. Brother was going to pop by and pick some up, but changed his mind, so shared them with two neighbours. ( plain stewed apple; apple and blackberry stewed). My neighbour is looking after another neighbours house, we went round and picked his pears, (He lives abroad for a large part of the year, so doesn't eat them). So spent the rest of yesterday starting to peel some pears. Today, made pear and blackberry jam and pear and blueberry compote (with skins on). Saved some pears to eat raw. Bagged up some pears and gave to another neighbour. Also, bagged some apples and pears up to take down to my mothers at the weekend.Made 11 pots of jam. We will possibly keep five / six jars. Gave a pot of jam to my neighbour, who gave me the pears, another neighbour who had a stroke a few weeks ago. A pot of jam is earmarked for my aunt, my Mum, my brother, and my DH brother.Have started to share spare runner beans with the neighbours, DH now thinks that he has enough to last him the year. I will place anymore in the village hall, for anyone to take.Picked several big tomatoes and made fresh tomato and basil soup. The potato, also came from the garden.
That's all for now.
Good night.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
