Laura, thanks yet again for your great advice! I'm currently wearing my slippers, a pair of Ugg ankle boots that I bought from Gumtree last autumn - sooo warm and cozy. The lady was selling them because they are a very light colour and she never wore them as she was worried about getting them dirty , but I just wanted them to wear in the house. There was a dark mark, no idea what, on the toe of one and as soon as I read your post I got the eraser on it and it's pretty much gone. Very happy 😊!!!!!6

Elisheba said:Oh, I can't work out how to search this thread for just my posts!
I think I was on 36 coupons, and I just bought a fleece heated hoodie which would be categorised as a jumper, so 5 coupons. So I'm now at 41 coupons for the year (or until I find a post which says I've used more than that!).
I have a feeling that there’s something you can do via your profile page, but the search-within-a-thread facility disappeared when they changed the forum software. We trust you @Elisheba, so if you think you’re on 41 coupons, then you are.
Who mentioned having a jam rally? I am happy to stir or chop, so long as I don’t have to engage my brain. I’m shattered tonight. It’s been a long couple of days at work, not helped by sitting in the car, chatting with my friend, on Monday night after choir. We broke our previous record. I had to kick her out at 11.15pm. Got home 25 minutes later, so well past my usual bedtime. We were talking through our reactions to HMQ’s death and the arrangements for the funeral. Much needed. It really does feel like the nation has lost our grandma.
In related news, I’ve booked Friday afternoon off to go join the queue for the Lying In State. I’ve read the rules and won’t be taking my knitting or the Swiss-army-knife-widget that lives within my handbag. The spot where my knitting normally lives will be taken up by a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of water.

Good luck with paying your respects on Friday. Even if I were minded to go I can't stand still for long (or close to still) due to some nerve issues in my hip and leg, so the length of the queues would be far too much for me.Live the good life where you have been planted.

In coupon free news. I've been on a second hand mini spree for the coming season.

Seems my style is going very much eccentric art teacher/pottery school/book nerd.
In search of a new bag but I might trawl the charity shops for that this week.
A posh bag or a shopper? I'm hoping to recycle fabrics and old umbrella 'skins' as tote bags but I think you are more accomplished than I am so I'm guessing it's a 'posh' bag wot one carries when one comes out of one's studio sans pottery splashes.Laura_Elsewhere said:The 'timberlands' - what are they made of? If it's nubuck/suedette stuff then an ordinary pencil-eraser is excellent, fine sandpaper if it's very stubborn.

@PipneyJane - my niece went in Edinburgh and queued just under six hours... she said the atmosphere in the queue, and coming out afterwards was very uplifting, just everyone being so nice and kind to each other - she was unintentionally there alone, and seems to have been looked after by all and sundry without her asking, just everyone looking out for everyone else...
Most usefully she mapped the route for us - obviously the London set-up may be different but her queue was 2.3 miles and took just under six hours.
Good luck!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I lost track of coupons at some point earlier this year. I've probably only bought two items on coupons since then, so I hope I'm not too massively adrift. I will try to do a reset at some point soon so I can catch up with myself. My bullet journal disagrees with my signature.
We're currently on holiday and I found I'd omitted to pack bras! I'm rather proud of myself for managing to wash this one overnight and wear it afresh next day. I'm also slightly worried as I pack regularly and thought I had it down to a tee, but that's twice this year I've missed an essential - last time was socks in Scotland. I bought emergency ones in TK Maxx, which have had a lot of use and so weren't wasteful, but I don't like to think I'm losing my grip (how many coupons for a new grip?)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Re the pencil eraser/ sandpaper ofr nubuck/suede - aw shucks, thanks everyone, but it's an old old tip!
If nubuck gets very worn, then you can in fact just put ordinary boot-polish on and turn it into leather againI had long mid-brown nubuck boots that eventually became very dark and shiny on the toes, so in desperation I tried boot polish and now I have dark brown leather boots

Sadly, I'm not that keen @Cherryfudge. Got a savoury tooth, not a sweet one.
