I'm another who loves 3/4 sleeves - I knit almost all my cardigans to be 3/4-sleeve! I also like cap-sleeve and short-sleeve.
I think my aversion to "full-length sleeve" is that they simply never are on me unless the thing is massively oversized. Since childhood everything has always ended inches above my wrists - aged 12 I had a Xmas present jumper from my parents which they had had made for me (I fell in love with Gotland wool on a holiday to Skye!) and they had it made with extra-long sleeves, and oh how I adored that jumper, the only time I ever had long sleeves!
But I think I've just become so used to sleeves being midway down my forearms that I find long sleeves uncomfortable now - I always push them up to just below my elbow.
As for warmth - I ALWAYS have bared forearms when I go out, year round, in order to get what Vit-D I can even in winter. I never have a problem - I wear good warm clothing, and good warm fingerless mitts or very warm mittens, and my forearms seem to be fine so long as each end is warm, so to speak!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

In other news… I am glued to BBC Radio 5. Signs aren’t good re HM Queen at Balmoral.
Bit of a sad vigil. Expected, given her age, but sad. I will dig out the biggest teapot in the Hall.

I always thought of myself as completely neutral re the Royals until the internet reached people's homes and suddenly so many people said such really vile racist things about Betty Battenberg that I've ended up defending her quite a bit, much to my surprise...
Whatever one may think of the system, she had very little choice - in real terms no choice as she knew that her uncle's Abdication had caused her parents great misery and shortened her father's life. Then her entire life with no choice about which country to be in, who to talk to, even what to wear and what food to eat for much of the year...
I'll make some cheese-topped rolls and bring them along in a bit. I don't know how long it might be... could be a while.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I have quite a bit of time for Her Maj, she has, to the best of her ability, done her duty. Has ‘The Establishment’ she’s fronting always got it right? No, but which person of organisation is right all the time? I think that fundamentally she is a kind and compassionate woman✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I'd best bake a battenberg cake, in honour, tomorrow...

John Major said that Her Majesty didn't parade her Christianity; she lived it.
I think that's one of the nicest tributes I've heard about her.
I saw her up close at a garden party in 2014 when my friend invited me to go with her. She was a very small lady but with a gigantic presence. I'm sad today, but I'm sure she's in a far better place now with the two loves of her life, Philip and God.2025 Fashion on the ration

She gave us a background stability just by being there and being as she was. I'm not a monarchist (changed my mind on this when someone pointed out what things might be like should certain royalty have been in her position) but I admired her as a person, she did an amazing job. As @MrsCD says, she's in a better place now, and with the loves of her life, and who could want more?
We live in interesting times... the world has changed a lot in the last few years, hasn't it? However, it's done that before and eventually we get used to it and even enjoy it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I don't think of myself as a royalist but my Dad and I had a quick toast in the pub this evening. It's strangely unsettling. He's 66 (I'm 48) - we've never known another monarch. I didn't think it would feel so odd.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
