Laura_Elsewhere said:@maddiemay, what a time of it you are having, a family funeral and wedding... do take time to look after yourself in amongst it all.
We drove down to the south coast last Friday and stayed overnight with my new Mother-in-law, which went fairly well, and then our next trip will be north to stay overnight with Mr Elsewhere's new in-laws!
I've just made a batch of very chocolatey brownies if anyone wants to test them. Mr E likes them, I loathe them, so it's my ideal kind of baking...!
Pleased the visit to your new MIL went well, do your folks still live in the Bonnie lands, so missed visiting there since Covid, hope to make it to The Borders in September, but a full scale visit North of the Border may hopefully be next year.
Chocolate brownies sound good, although I can only eat tiny portions, I am notorious for looking longingly for something savoury amongst laden tables of cake and biscuitsThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)7 -

I like to think of the wartime "Squanderbug" adverts and if I want to buy something I try (don't always manage it but at least I do try!) to think of whether it's really worth my coupons and whether I really do want it, or is it the Squanderbug whispering in my ear wickedly?!

MY Oh my the topper is absolutely stunning - well done all involved @keepcalmandcraft.
Is it cheating if I do not deduct any vouchers at this time. I am getting into the ethos of how it works. I am definitely thinking even more before I make a purchase. I have been looking at WANTING a dress or 2 more, I have made the decision of a particular brand I like then am starting to do more searching for what fits what I am prepared to pay. I am a CS shopper without any shameI am looking forward to some decent weekends and getting to a car boot or 2 also. I would like to purchase a few more linen items as I can always top up the colour with re dying them.

I wrote a post declaring my spends and lost it. Total coupons is 116 year to date. I have listed all my purchases and will list tomorrow. Certainly eye opening.6

@maddiemay and @dreamyd, I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. Sending hugs...
@Fizz2015, 116 is less than two years' coupons, isn't it? That means you are into 1944. Well, my work colleague tells me she's in 2022!!! So you have a long way to go to catch up with such wanton profligacy.
I wonder if you might get a few coupons back should you chose to donate any not-as-loved-as-you-expected items to the war effort? Admittedly, I've never heard of anyone succeeding in this, but there's a first time for everything.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
