Thanks everyone
Thanks @Blackcats. What you said makes sense...
'I read that a seaside walk clears the head and invigorates and energises whilst a walk by still water eg pond or lake calms.'
A few days since posting and my journey towards a new life continues. I'm now where I will hopefully be until I move into the new home. There are a few problems, but hoping they can be resolved, if not, another move is on the cards. Crossing my fingers I don't need to move again. Trying not to panic...
A few posts ago I was worried about finances, still am, but everyone who needed payment has received it. I actually overestimated how much I owed the CC and overpaid, so now there is a credit!
I used the credit to buy a soup maker. Soup every day at home, or in a flask is a huge money saver. I also ordered a stainless steel coffee maker as the last 3 coffeemakers got smashed so the worst that can happen with the stainless steel one is a dent or twoI can take a flask of coffee when I am out for the day too
Appalling sleep here so far, many reasons. Hoping for better sleep tonight...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hi DIA - Really hope things improve for you soon. Soups can be great - so sounds like a great investment - and the same for your coffee maker. Hope you sleep better soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good luck DIA - I'm sure you will settle in - and learn to live with any flaws the property has - but if it isn't meant to be you always seem to be able to find an optionI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

A temporary home doesn't have to be perfect, if you say what the issues are we may be able to make suggestions to do a temporary fix; unless it's leaking roof, no windows etc.
Better to overestimate and have a surprise than underestimate and another frog to deal with.

Thanks @savingholmes, sleep is improving slowly...
Thanks @mark55man it is good to be reminded that if it doesn't work out, in the past I have always managed to sort something out.
Thanks @MovingForwards, hoping problems can be ironed out.
Thanks @Chrystal the good wishes and hugs are appreciated
I can't say too much about where I am. It is lovely and the owner has kindly allowed me to stay. I'm paying, but less than the going rate, so really thankful. However, my small room has a window that cannot open. (working to get it opened...) Generally all windows remain closed all the time. I'm a fresh air freak/claustrophobic, so that makes it very hard for me. There are other incompatibilities that I won't mention, but that is the main one.
The bottom line is I need to make this work. I'm sick of moving. I need to protect my diminishing capital too (cheers inflation and house price rises) Where I am, is near an archive I can use daily for my creative work and that is a big plus. Just packed my lunch and got out coffee flask and soup flask as I will be going there tomorrow for the first time.
Today I completed my task of packing a toiletry bag full of things I need for a few nights away
I checked the local swimming pool for deals.
Hope everyone is ok

I would find non-opening windows difficult too.
Hope the archive lives up to expectations and it makes things easier for you.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Upheaval isn't a great thing at the best of times. You are going through so much but eventually ( hopefully sooner rather than later🤞) you'll be able to put this behind you.
All I can say is hang in there . Keep the same approach as you always do ..and hopefully you can make this work and a more positive time won't be too far off...6 -

Love a good archive!! (says the ex archivist!)
Hate an unopening window!!
OH always looks at me like I'm speaking klingon when I try to explain why windows need to open during the night. We are currently compromising by keeping the large bedroom velux window clipped to shut (so open the smallest crack) and the nearby smaller bathroom window open about 1/4. Benefit here is that the bathroom window is very stiff and is on the leeward side of the house so never shifts but the bedroom has been known to swing open completely in stormy weather and allow rainwater to cascade on to his side of the bed. For some reason this makes him grumpy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
