Thanks @savingholmes, it is a rollercoaster. The last few years have been like that. It can't last because nothing does...
So, I got an email from EA saying they understand completely. Reading between the lines they thought the demands were unrealistic too. Seems I have the EA back on-side again, so at least there is that.
Due to the loan to the younger relative I have had such a tight month. I made it through with less than £5 spare and now I have a bit of money again. Not much, but I bought nice food and wine. I bought flowers for my host. I bought 2 books from the cs for £1 each.
I bought my train ticket to the country cottage. I go next week. I stuck a YS FR chicken in the freezer but will take that with me. I'm away next week, can't wait for some alone time...
Today I need to complete a form and get it posted.
Friends of my host are coming for lunch. I'm cooking. Veggies look away now, as doing a spiced chicken with preserved lemons, red rice and pancetta stuffing with lots of garlic greens. I bought a nice Chardonnay on offer in MnS (available now) reduced from £12 to £8.
Have a good day everyone

Glad you have decided not to go ahead with the house , all those conditions had me stressed , never mind you. Have a lovely week away at the cottage next week.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

You did the right thing pulling out of the sale. I would begrudge buying a house from a vendor like that!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

There was definitely some sort of issue they were covering up.

I'm glad you stood firm and rejected the conditions, totally unrealistic.
Lunch sounded fantastic.

@mark55man @Sunshine_girl2 @Sun_Addict @badmemory @savingholmes @jwil @savingholmes @MovingForwards thank you for your posts
I ended last week pretty sure I had a new home lined up. I end this week with nothing. Not even a sniff of a suitable house this week. Sigh.
The meal was indeed lovely. Everyone enjoyed it. I made a lemon and tahini sauce as I had a few lemons. I also added freshly podded peas to the greens. Puddings are not my strength so I did a cheeseboard instead with fruit. Then some nice dark chocolateI really miss having my own home but lovely friend is more than happy for me to cook at hers!
The big frog was getting the forms off for my DBP. All gone now. No changing my mind to go for a maximum lump sum.
I bought a lovely dress in a CS. Unknown label but the material was gorgeous. It looks new. Looked it up and this is a designer whose dresses range from £200-300. It cost me £6.75 so very pleased. Also a Whitestuff dress for £7. Both are 100% cotton and very nice. Also a first edition of a book by an author I love for £2 and 4 1950s brandy glass beautifully etched for £4. I bought 2 tops in the sale that came to £100 so they will go back and I'll keep my new CS clothes instead
The younger relative I loaned money to has let me down by not repaying when they said they would. It is a lot of money to me! I'll leave it a few days before working out what I intend to do.
Later on I will be having a shredding session. Then make a list of things to do.
I hope everyone is ok

How dissapointing that your younger relative has not kept his word.
