Thanks :) I am a NHS patient. Can I still get insurance or is that only if I go private? I'm minded to stay on the NHS register as they stopped taking new NHS patients a while back

Thanks  :) I remember your house buying journey so I know you understand.

Oh how absolutely awful about your friend’s niece. So sad and definitely puts things into perspective.

On the house front, you’ll find the right place eventually, I know it must be frustrating for you right now.

So sorry to hear about your friend's niece.  How awful :(

Keep hold of your NHS dentist as long as you can.  Ours has given up NHS and there are none around here at all, not even for the kids.

Thanks everyone :)  People use the word tragic all the time but the loss of a young life by their own hand really is...

Well the EA issue continues. This particular EA wanted me to view again next week. I have viewed twice so it isn't necessary. I'm being stalled. I put in an offer after this particular EA did not respond to my email asking them to contact me with regards to an offer.  I kept it all cordial but copied my offer to the awkward EA and the whole office, forcing them to act. They finally acknowledged my offer after much foot dragging. Now, the difficult estate agent says they could not get hold of the client and is off tomorrow. They will try again on Monday. I think they are hoping for other offers on Saturday, so they are stalling me. I feel ok. I submitted a good offer and if not accepted I will find something else.

I'm not a person to hate but I'm heading in that direction where this EA is concerned...
EAs can impact such an important area of life...

In good MSE news I have found a way not to steal from my future self forever. I had thought of taking a very large lump-sum (to go on the house purchase) instead of maximising my pension income. I lurk on the pensions board so know it would have been a poor choice due to the commutation.

I hope everyone is having a good day

You have the patience of a saint and the wisdom of solomon whoever he was.

With the lump sum it does depend on the commutation - for example mine has a 19 year pay back and the 84 year old me (my age at the start of being disadvantaged by my decision) can just go stew because I'm definitely having it in a few years at 65.

But if it was earlier - eg 75 when I start being worse off then I would make a different decision
