Another cooler day which is lovely. This is the sort of temps I like (c.20 degrees). Warm enough to enjoy, cool enough to still do stuff.
Quiet day at home today as I've got my pre-diabetes course. I can then potter around after. I think I'm 1lb down from last time. It's so frustrating. I've made all these changes but still no weight loss! All they see is BMI.It's blooming soul destroying.

Hi Jwil
Remember the non scale victories you've been having - like losing inches and fitting into other clothes. I'm pretty much staying the same at the moment too. Sometimes I then find I'll lose some in a rush. You are still getting benefits if you are holding steady rather than increasing.
Glad you had time at the beach.

My course was very disappointing today, I was so frustrated anyway, and the course leader (not the usual one) was trying to get me to publicly post my weight in the chat which I refused to do. I had submitted it via email as we are asked to do, and they say that it is optional anyway. I was not impressed! I did pack up my attitude and take part, but I'm not getting any benefit from this course at all. It's probably good if you don't know about healthy eating etc, but I know all this stuff, I am looking for motivation and inspiration not basic facts. Four more sessions to go I think! Honestly, I used to get so much more from attending SW. I'd quite like to go back, but the focus on the scales is not good for my mental health. I might see how I get on the rest of this year, and maybe go back next year if I haven't made significant progress. My next blood test is due in December, so that will tell me if I'm making any difference.
After that was over, I have been in the garden for most of the afternoon. I've put in some border edging that I bought the other day, and now have ordered 3 more sets (I wanted to be sure I liked them first). I've done a lot of weeding, and emptied some part used bags of compost on to those areas to mulch them. That has gotten rid of a pile of rotting plastic bags in the garden so is a massive result in itself. The borders will help keep the soil on the beds rather than spreading across the garden. That one bit looks so much better.
My neighbour came round to check whether the tree scratching had stopped. He had tried chopping it from his bedroom window, and mentioned that the branches had gone into our garden. I am not bothered about that, and it's nice not to have the scraping any more, which was like fingernails running down a blackboard! 😖 I told him how grateful we were

If you are eating and drinking healthily, exercising more (even if it jigging around while you wash the dishes!) and from this you are losing inches then you must be doing something right. I would continue the course as it may give you some nuggets of information in the next few sessions, and then concentrate on what you are already doing and hope that the next blood tests show an improvement.
