Good morning, had a really busy couple of weeks making baby gifts to give at a baby shower that I'm going to this afternoon. Had never heard of these before - thought they were only in the USA ( out of touch as usual !!!).
Anyway I spent £7.50 for a plastic box and wool to make the knitted blanket. The blanket was hard going on my shoulder as it's double thickness double knitting wool knitted on size 4mm needles so very tight. The rest was all made from my stash.
The baby shower is for son's partner who is going into hospital on 27th for a c section. Hope she doesn't go into labour today 🥴. I've just made a tray of Rocky Road to take and might be tempted into trying a bit before I leave.
Happy Crafting

Katiehound, I now have visions of you hanging upside down as you sew ‘like a demented bat’, You are a real champion. You seem to have an endless supply of duvets! Thanks for info re pattern for dog coats. I drew up a pattern using online instructions according to Stanley’s measurements, and it is just not right at all, so I haven’t cut into the fabric yet. I’ll see if they have an old coat I can dissemble.
That unicorn orange cover is sooooo cute, Florenceem. I’m going to have to find a pattern and make one for my granddaughter. Those mug sets are very tempting.
You’re doing a great job of unpacking and decluttering AND being creative, nimbo. I’m glad you found your dress. And I’m sorry it didn’t work out as you’d hoped, but at least you know what you need to do to sort out the next one. Good work on your medallions.
emsi_b, I like your positive attitude re getting to read in peace at the car boot sale, although you didn’t actually sell much. You are definitely on a (cutlery) roll now! I used to love making clothes for my kids; now I make for my grandchildren, but not so much. Good luck with the tote bag.
Oh my, sammy_kaye18, you certainly have been through the wringer! Your husband is so lucky to have been able to get back into his old workplace. I’m really sorry about your dog.
I like the sound of your Roman dress, Wraithlady – and green is my favourite colour!
euronorris, that’s a pretty dress; your daughter will be the star of the celebrations.
Hi again, craftingmad. I’m glad you and pooch are recovering. I was one of the lucky ones re covid – I had it in February, but I had not a single symptom. I only found out when husband was unwell, and we both went for tests. I still wear a mask in crowded places because I’d hate to think I had it again and was generously sharing it with all and sundry.
What a lucky baby, plumduff55, your gifts are beautiful. I hope you enjoyed the baby shower.
I’ve well and truly lost my mojo ☹ I blame having to stop work on that wee stripey cardi while I waited for wool to arrive. Anyway, I have done a bit more of it – one sleeve (took just an hour so)since I was last on here – and I’ve given myself a deadline of next Sunday to finish the other sleeve and the button band. What else have I done? Today I made 2 cards. That’s the sum total for the last 2 weeks. And the craft room is a tip because I hauled out stacks of papers to find just the right ones for the cards (they are both the same, by the way, lol). Also lots of stuff was dragged out because I wanted specific toppers – and I couldn’t find them. I think the Hiding Gremlin has decided to visit me. Next job is to blitz tidy so that I can enjoy being in there and making things again!

Hi, the baby shower was great. Luckily no games as I'd heard but loads of calories and chat. Son's partner loved the baby things.
This afternoon I'm starting with my waistcoat again and hopefully it won't end up being ripped back and made into something else. I'm hating this project 🤨
The problem is that the neck decreases start at the waist - I wanted the decreases to start at the bust so I could have one large button for closure. I calculated the decreases and it should have worked BUT the shoulder decreases are over 24 rows and when finished the front was too long. Ripped it back to start of decreases and still it didn't work. By then I was feeling 🤬. Think now ill calculate again and knit the second front, write down every step then copy the first front and maybe possibly adjust the back to match the front. Honestly I'm getting to the end of my tether with this one !!!

I have tackled family repairs - Dgd gave me a bag with a zip pulled off - good old YT showed me how to reattach it.
Dd had a designer cardigan with shoulder patches that were peeling off - I did my best - at least it is wearable now.
Made 2 Birthday cards by recycling fronts that were given to me.
