2022 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

I've made 2 cutlery rolls and a coin purse- 8/100. I also fell thoroughly off the wagon and bought lots of fabric 🤦♀️ I have used some already, and really have the bug so need to just never step foot in a shop selling fabric ever again, and block fabric sites from any Internet capable device I have. I've also made a bit more of my son's coat- I think it will fit him for a while longer actually, which is handy!! I need to attach the hood, and then do the lining. I haven't decided whether to do a toggle or a button yet, I'll ask son and see what he thinks. I'll save myself the temptation and ask my mum or nan for a button/toggle if I don't have one suitable!!Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025
Make £2024 in 2024- £852.21/£2024

Erm, I don't think I've stuck to my budget 😬 I forgot I set one actually.
I did make a jubilee themed dress for DD though, for her school celebration at the end of the month, which I'm quite proud of:

Oh and 3 paper mache dinosaurs!I think I need to make a checklist and slowly work my way through them.Last project was a ‘gift bag’ for my mother in laws birthday. Hand painted by myself.I look forward to seeing everyone’s crafts and learning some new things.Going to set my cap at £100 but I already have a £35 hobbycraft voucher from Christmas to use so that will go soon no doubt!

ChainikCrafts said:Thanks for your kind messages. I am now COVID free and back out in the world. Physically I was pretty lucky but felt very brain dead, so things that required very little focus or moving were necessary. As a result, I’ve made a decent dent in the mending pile (though it remains concerningly large). Now that I’m feeling better, I’ve been working on some knitting. I have finished off two small balls that I had leftover from a previous hat. They worked themselves into another hat, so I’ve put that in my box for presents. Sure it will come in at some point.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.025

AnimalTribe said:March was a poor month for crafting. I started to crochet a lap blanket but only managed a couple of inches. I've spent most of March decluttering and cleaning in an effort to keep occupied, as my lovely black Labrador died at age 14. I managed to take a large amount of books to the charity shop, although I've saved a couple with interesting pictures to use in card making. Hopefully, I'll do better this month. I enjoy reading what other people are making as it helps me to stay motivated.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.024

Hoping to put it to good use and sell some makes along the way perhaps. Currently making a rag wreath for the first time but as my wee moneyspender (5yo) is home poorly it’s not getting decorated very fast!Stashbuster said:Coming to join the stash busting having spent too much money on supplies recently (oops) on top of what I already have 😬.

only me and checking in.It’s been a horrible first week to the month.Husband left his job and started his new job.May 1st his old job messed up his pay and we he only got paid £600 instead of £1700 and he was £300 overdrawn so we were in some major trouble.Thankfully my father has lent us some money for the month to cover bills. Two days later our elderly dog had to be put to sleep so that was £230 on the credit card that we didn’t really need. Then yesterday husband came home at lunchtime and told me he’d been made redundant as new job had to make job cuts.Just what you need with everything else and your sons 18th birthday coming up.Thankfully he kept in with all his old workmates and I hadn’t taken my crafting scissors to his old work shirts yet so he’s starting back there on Wednesday. He won’t be management like he was just general staff but thankfully there’s not much difference in pay and the option of overtime is there.Thank the heavens for crafting. Ive been crafting every evening to keep my
mind busy, I tend to offer suggestions to husband and when he’s stressed he doesn’t handle it well so focusing on that has helped. So I now have 2 of the 6 Christmas cross stitches done. I will post pictures tomorrow.Daughter has been home the last few days too as she’s been upset so she’s pinched two of my crafts - a paint your own piggy bank in the shape of a postbox which is all the change I find and use for penpal letters and a small Christmas cross stitch I have of a polar bear which she has been learning to do and seems to like. I do need to see if I can find a small sewing hoop for her though to make it easier.Loving all the crafts that you've all done too.My current project whizzing in my head is for my sons 18th. He’s always loved the film cars - even as an 18 year old! So I’m going to see if I can print out a picture and his name to colour in and make into a cake topper!
Remember we are all here if you just want to vent or cry xMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.027 -
Hi everyone - I'm back. Did you miss me?
So sorry for being AWOL for so long.
I caught COVID and was pretty poorly and had a poorly puppy who has taken up a lot of my time. The cuddles have been fab though.
All your makes are fantastic. I feel quite inferior with mine - you are a talented bunch.
I have been naughty and spent a bit more money (I found the stampin up foxy friends punch on ebay for £15 including postage so had to treat myself (especially as the sale proceeds went to a mental health charity) but in my defence I have been busy beavering away and can declare my total is currently at 711/2022.
Still a long way to go but I am beginning to find the floor in my craft room so I've definately cut back my craft spending dramatically
Keep crafting everyone - I cannot wait to hear more updates xMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.027 -
217 / 250 projects
I’ve finished the dress. It’s an unwearable toile. But I know I can do it now. I’d cut it wrong so the sewing was always going g to be a pain in the bottom. I need to cut another. And deal with the pattern.I’ve made some more medallions for the quilt.I’ve started to sand back and clean off a printer tray and will wax it again soon. It’s looking good.
I’ve bought some screws and rawl plugs. But I’m not counting this as craft budget as it really is diy.£108.92 / £250 spent so far.I’m glad people have been busy.

Another coin purse and a cutlery roll done today 10/100, and started on an inside out tote bag, but I'm not sure of what the pattern is supposed to look like so using some curtain fabric to test it out. I have bought nice fabric to make proper ones with, but not until I'm sure I know how to cut it out so that it works!
I need to measure myself to see what size to trace of my new pattern, and then I can get started on that too. I really ought to finish the quilted purse I've started and my son's coat before I do anything else- the purse might finish up quick, but the coat will take a bit longer!! It's coming up ok, just a bit fiddly.Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025
