2022 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

Options
So after my failure in previous years, 2022 is most definitely the year I am going to try really hard to bust my stash!!!!
I have no choice as I have nowhere left to store craft goodies in my house. Its overflowing and annoying my poor suffering husband and son.
So have put myself on a self imposed craft spending ban during 2022.
As a total ban has not worked well for me in the past I have decided to set a budget of £300 for the year for me to treat myself to new supplies. I am not going to include in my budget buying adhesives or supplies for orders (for items which I already make - I have my own business on Etsy) as long as I have nothing left in my stash which I can use and I am allowing crafty storage as extra if really required and I don't have something already that can do the job as I figure being organised will help me see the stash I already have.

Other than that I hope to use only things from my stash and not get tempted by the new shiny objects which keep being released.

As I have failed miserably at my previous targets I may have to set the bar a little lower but always optimistic I am am going to start my target at 2022
This will be a mixture of cards, scrapbook pages, project Life (I will class each page or handmade filler card as one item), handmade items - in fact a real mixture of things as I'm sure I have all the supplies I need to make pretty much everything I can think of!

Would anybody care to join me?
The rules are simple - there are no hard and fast rules apart from what you want them to be. The aim is to use our crafty stash and stay within our crafty budget but of course if you do weaken and grow your stash just come in and confess your sins and you will be forgiven

You can set your own target of how many items you would like to make using your stash or just a certain amount of time you want to not buy for. Whatever works for you is ok with me

    Hi

I 100% need to join this for 2022, I have so much to do craft-wise, including knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, card-making and rug-making. Would be nice to work through my projects and stuff this year and start with a clean slate in 2023. I will start with a target of 100 items. My initial items to target are a a lilac jumper that I am knitting for my Mum (sleeves, neckband and sewing up left to do), finishing touches to house cross-stitch (back-stitching left) and a Beauty and the Beast rug, which I started a few days ago for something different to do. Will post pictures of my projects as regularly as I can.

    B x
you sound like you have a great plan. I cannot wait to see your progress x

    Hiya

I’ve not done a stock take for this year yet but will do by nye.

My make target for the year will be 250.

My spend target will be £250 - including anything. I’ve just moved house so will be planning to get stuff on the walls etc so frames and things like that will count.

    Aims for this month  -

    sort out my craft room.

Label the box’s the removal men left in the garage. They are labelled on the side and the ends are exposed. 🤦🏼‍♀️

    Bottle sloe gin.

    Frame and hang some stuff.

Wishing you lots of happiness in your new house.
I cannot wait to hear about all your crafty makes and see your house transforming into a home for you x

I would love to join. I don't want to spen anything but I think it is a sensible idea to have a budget for necessary items. I am going for a very budget of £25.00 but I shouldn't need even that.

I have always put off crafting despite my room full of stuff as it is something I want to do and other things take precedence. Anyhoo, I am aiming to make 52 craft items. I have a large stash of wool, fabric, kits. cross stitch and any number of other things. I have to finish off some part part made things first which I will also count.

Looking forward to the challenge, bring it on 2022.

Hello. I have just realised I have not put a make target, apologies. I think the target will be around 150 items as some will be small and some will be more time consuming. Thank you.
