Hi ladies! Christmas is done and all my MaccyD shifts until after New Year are completed...I am on holiday, whoop, whoop! Oh, and on flood alert too...fabulous!
To celebrate, I have stripped the bed and will be spending the rest of the day dot to dot clearing and cleaning the house.
Hope everyone had a good festive time...sorry to hear the plague has struck some of you. Big hugs to all xxx11 -
Pigpen I agree that this whole testing thing is becoming a nonsense. DS cant get a Covid passport because he had a positive PCR less than ten days ago but that doesnt matter he just has to say he has done a negative LFT. Pleased that he can go to the races tomorrow though.
DS1 taken to hospital appointment, he has to have colonoscopy, MRI and biopsies. Came home and took DS2 into town for a haircut and to get some links taken out of his new watch.
Lovely family day yesterday, house has been returned to some sort of order but there are a lot of Christmas presents that need putting away somewhere. Feet up now. I have promised to take DS1 to the pub later and collect him if he cant get a lift.
Leftovers for tea I think.12 -
I’m sort of on list, for a change…
Beds x 2 changed, bedding queuing for its wm slot tomorrow. Today’s space was taken by a load of dark washing.
QHI done to clear the pile. Until today’s washing dries, that is.
Vacuumed through.
Mr M delivered a small shop. Originally I had the slot booked for DSiL and BiL’s visit tomorrow, but they have cancelled and I kept the slot. Filled the trolley with a few essentials which were on offer (yes, tonic water so is an essential, if anyone asks), and some bits for DD, amongst other things.
Completed my professional development declaration and paid my subs. Off the list at last.
Coerced DH into pressing submit for his tax return. Finally.
Tried to sort out my @pple backups but got frustrated with going round in circles, so abandoned that.
Still to do - write out list of meals to use up the fridge contents.
GWS wishes to poorlies, and welcome to newbies.9 -
Well we have had no internet all day - DD had to piggyback off her 4G on her phone as she was wfh. It was all our area.
I have, however, been mindfully shifting stuff from the office/guest room. In other words thinking about where it needs to end up instead of just moving it out.
I don't know if I mentioned the box of random stuff which appeared before xmas? Anyway I have taken photos out of frames; frames have either gone are are to go to CS. And the photos themselves? If I didn't know who/what/where they were they have been binned. There are photos of my kids when younger so I have those, and the photos of my sister's children will go to her.

Had a lovely day with all my children and grandchildren. Going to fall into bed now and hopefully get a good night's sleep - I need it! But at least I shall come down to a clean and tidy kitchen tomorrow morning.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need, and GWS wishes to all poorlies xxx11 -
Hello everyone, may i join you all for the new year please? I have dipped in and out of this thread, just reading/stalking, for many years, but never joined. My house is always upside down, need to sort it!
Yesterday i, did DW twice, WM, and TD, once each, sorted the cupboard full of plastic containers, took hay to the sheep, rescued a lamb from the brambles. Mended a jigsaw puzzle, DVD 2 had one where all the fronts had come unstuck from the backs of the pieces. Fed seven people and finished knitting a baby cardigan, for DD3's friend.
Today so far DW is on and porridge eaten.
I will try to post regularly, but may be MIA during making season.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.12 -
Morning all xx
DS's birthday today. 29 years old. He was 10 days late then arrived in a rush....at 8.25am. Ahh memories 🙂
Paid stuff again today for me. Yesterday was busy but relatively stress free- there being no cockwombles in the building. Just saying 😉
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off.
Have a good day

Good morning lovelies - a peaceful start to my day for once! I'm continuing dot to dot clearing and cleaning today but I will make a concerted effort to address the fridge as there are lots of "orts" as my Nan used to say.
2022 aims for me include cutting back on material items and to become more resourceful and creative with what we already have (which is more than enough!). This will mean a major declutter of stuff and simplifying chunks of my life and home. Ooh, that all sounds very serious and grown up. I need to feel more calm and less worried all the time and I'm in the middle of assessing what's important to me and ditching what's not. I often felt like I was born about 150 years too late, if that makes sense?
Anyhoo....happy birthday to Master Round and hugs for those in need xxx12 -
Good morning all,
No surprise, but it is mild, dull and wet outside. Oh, for a crispy blue skied frosty day.
Happy Birthday to Master Round x 🎂!
Iona, I’m so glad that you had a lovely day. Today is for taking easy, mind x
The wm is on with yesterday’s bedding, the ironing pile is back again, so HHI on the agenda for later. Cuppa 1 is being nursed. I should also do the bathrooms… A list of meals was made up last night, not exactly a meal plan, but every meal on the list for a reason, to use something up. I would like (not really, but needs must) to do some admin and out some effort into next year’s budget, but probably a step too far for today.
Flying ambitions 2022? These days, just keeping up with the basics is an achievement. But the kitchen is the place which I have really let go this past year. I would like to make an effort to clear surfaces (not only in the kitchen), but not so easy with a clutterer and a hoarder in the house. Plus somehow get myself out of my mother’s extremely large larder mindset. She was a WW2 evacuee, and had a fear of running out of food. I have inherited the same, my sister is the complete opposite. Obviously the ones from previous years are still there - become more self sufficient and have less of what we really don’t need.
Sorry, a rambling post. Have a lovely day all. The usual GWS wishes to all the poorlies, who are hopefully feeling a bit better today xx11
