Morning all (just)
Thank you so much for all your kind words. We are all in shock, but this afternoon I am going to see my friend. Nothing I can do but be a shoulder and to give hugs.
So on we go, still not entirely sure what day of the week it is. Ah, the tablet says it is Sunday, apparently.Wm x 1 done and hung up. Christmas trees etc down and ready for Operation Loft. Floors swept, where the artificial tree shed so many more “needles” than the real one.Another one already dreading the return to work, although we get a day’s stay of execution as DD has an oncology appointment. We sure know how to live the dream here.
On the plus side, I have managed to demolish nearly all of my book since yesterday afternoon, and am half way through knitting DD’s scarf. I have yet another cuppa and am going back to my book for a bit.
Have a lovely day all xx10 -

Been to town - picked up some xmas cards, wrap and tags (reduced) and some salmon steaks reduced from £4.00 to £1.40 a pack (of 2) plus some battered haddock.
Brought in washing before I went - good call as it did rain - washing dry enough to iron so v. pleased.

Thanks, we didnt get to the shops today so will go tomorrow. We havent been in a shop since Christmas Eve so supplies are low if you discount the chocolate, crackers, biscuits, Christmas cake, icecream and other unhealthy things.Narc0lepsy said:Yorkshire Lass if the bank holiday monday after Christmas is anything to go by, you will get some good bargains if you shop at about 5pm on Monday.
DH suggested doing something nice today before we need to get ready for real life to restart. So we drove up onto the moors and did a fantastic 6 mile walk. We took a flask and sandwiches but did need to pay for car parking.
Have put a load of washing in, we have eaten some leftover lasagne out of the freezer and I now have feet up and fire lit.

Thankfully we have heard from the friend today. It was a white van man who did a U-turn - C said he could see the man was about to do that but he couldn't get completely out of the way so the van caught his pannier (thankfully that stopped his legs being mashed) and he flew off. One idiot (I don't know if it was white van man) actually stood with fag hanging out of his mouth while another motorist moved the bike - which was leaking copious amounts of petrol. Total seems to be 4 cracked ribs, punctured lung now recovering, lots of bruising and a bike which is likely to be written off. It's the first accident he's had in 50yrs of biking. Lots of witnesses so hopefully wvm will be done for dangerous driving but who knows. The son, despite testing negative, wasn't allowed in to see him. We really feel for him in many ways but especially as it is the first anniversary of his wife's passing in a couple of weeks and all her treatment was in the same hospital.kazwookie said:Narco can you look the friends son up via a FB name?
Walked to church this am, not many people there. Did a bit more in the garden then spent some time flying in places our visitor will go tomorrow i.e. lounge/diner, hall, bathroom.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
