Morning all
Another who doesn’t like the NY fuss. Hence me being asleep very early and up at this hour! Big love to you all, allow yourselves time and space to do what you need to do. Stupid expectations of everything being ‘amazing’ all the time - that’s not life. I intend to spend today outside with the children as much as possible chopping firewood and generally ignoring the rest of the world (other than my flyladies of course!)
Hope you’re all sleeping soundly xx

Happy New Year!
I've also been up since 4.30am, despite seeing in the NY with DH and the boys.
I know the rule about washing clothes on NYD so I'll be ironing instead watching the TV in the kitchen which finally works due to DH getting a Firestick for Christmas! Yay! I can catch up on all my favourite series whilst flying! Win, win I say...
Sooooo much to do this year, sooooo little cash...will be interesting.

Morning all
another one here who opted for an early night and was then woken by the fireworks. I managed a few more hours after that but feeling a bit groggy and out of sorts this morning. Plan for today is to take tree etc down, clean the lounge and head out somewhere for a good walk.
Hope you all have a good day and happy new year xx12 -
Happy New Year!Been awake most of the night I think, we went to bed about 11pm, as I don't normally drink I had a small glass of wine, so I wonder if it was that that kept me away.Cat are currently running up and down the hallway, I'm still in bed, OH is faffing about, muttering about going out on his motorbike and getting things ready.Best wishesBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning all
Sending hugs to those thinking about missing loved ones or just generally not feeling excited about the start of 2022. I am kind of tiptoeing into it thinking OK what are you going to throw at me this year. DH summed it up perfectly last night when he said the start and end of 2021 was rubbish but the bit in the middle was OK.
I got a message from an old work colleague last night, we worked together for 12 years in a job that I absolutely loved, such good times. However I am putting all that aside, this is here and now and I have to get on with it. Positive thinking right?
I may break the no laundry rule as I want to get DSs sheets washed. Going to my Mums for lunch, she will love having us there. Have a bit of a scratchy throat but have done a test and its negative.
Have a good day everyone, lets keep striding on hand in hand and make 2022 the best that we can x11 -

No idea, Leftie, but no doubt someone will be along soon who does know.Happy new year to all Flyladies past and present. Here's to another year of making progress in this hovel with everyone's friendship and support.Another one who dreads having to be cheerful until at the very least 00.30am which I would struggle with if I stayed up, so I never do. Lights off by 10.00pm *bliss* woken up by fireworks at 0000 *boo*, then again by lodger coming in an dog barking at 3.30am - tolerated because he's lovely and a pleasure to have in the house and she probably needed a pee anyway. Still, lots of sleep had, so that's a great start to the new year.Better is good enough.10

Morning all xx
And a Happy New Year to all xx
I had to Google the 'no washing on New Year's Day' thing....superstition says if you do so you are washing for the dead and someone in the household will die during the year. I try not to be superstitious but after the challenging year I've just had I'm not prepared to risk it. 🙃
Some numpty round here lives in the same timezone as pigger's neighbours! Just after I went to bed, so around 10.15pm, there was the most enormous BANG. Just the one. Most peculiar and very annoying! Then the fireworks woke me up at midnight. Bah! And a text from DS - not bah!
To Do Today List:
Shower & wash hair
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Recycle Christmas TV guide
Recycle 2021 calendar
WUDUPA
FUPA clean dry washing
Put airer away
I've made my bed and had a brew. Brew 2 and breakfast first methinks.
Much love to you all. And thank you for being my friends.
Rxx

Thank you for the explanation @roundtuit - thankfully I'm not even vaguely superstitious so my laundry is on! 😉
Similar thing with the fireworks at midnight 🙈 I was still awake but they do annoy me - living in the sticks means a lot of wildlife around and I also hate the fact that dogs are badly affected too 😔
Just doing dailies today- I'm going to do a bit of self-care and have a walk later so a gentle start to my year!
Happy new year to everyone - hope it's a good one for all! 😊DNF: £708.92/£1000

I've done two loads of bedding - the forecast is good so I'm not passing up on the chance to get it line dried.
