I had to go shopping today for odd bits (mainly ingredients for cakes for vegan DDiL1) so my fridge is bursting at the seams.
For our family tea tomorrow I have made vegan chocolate cupcakes which have risen beautifully, and a vegan lemon cake which has sunk as per the note in the instructions - but since the top is going to be decorated with thickened yogurt and a blueberry compote, it really won't matter! I have also made orange and raspberry jellies for d-i-y trifle.
I sliced the last chunks off the turkey crown, boiled up the carcass, made risotto for tea and still frozen enough thick slices for two more meals. It said 6-7 portions and we shall have had 10 - and they weren't small portions - which I consider good value.
In anticipation of DSiL's visit and his delicate sense of smell, I have washed Rosie's rug and thrown away her three very old and odorous soft toys and given her two new ones, which she is now playing with very happily. She got plenty of turkey around tea time too.
I am relieved to say that DH decided not to go to the war games meeting today, though he sulked all morning. I called next door to ask NNDN if my boys can park on her drive tomorrow, and found out that she has brought Covid back from her Christmas visit to her son and his family in Lincolnshire. However, she is very sensible and thoughtful, and we kept well away from each other during our brief conversation outdoors. I really do not want it because of DH having his second pre-op next week.
Don't worry if I don't appear tomorrow: I expect to be fully occupied with food, presents and more food!

We both slept late today; must be tired but nice to be back in our own bed/house.
I load through DW
1 load through WM but rain all day so drying indoors.
Continued emptying various bags of 'stuff'.
Culled a load of old emails. I have several bits of my computer/cloud which are getting full, so really need to keep culling.
Made yet another flower arrangement, for us this time, with leftover flowers.
Slobbed out in front of an old Agatha Christie, Royal Institute Lecture then West Side Story.
Did some drumming practice, first for ages so played along to Christmas radio.

Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, showered and dressed, done my LFT (-ve), packed my lunch, eaten my breakfast and I'm having my brew. Yep - it's back to the paid stuff for me.
Me too - I've had a lovely little Valli sat on my shoulder whispering 'don't put it down, put it away' all month, so the unused Christmas cards, wrapping paper, labels, etc etc were put away as soon as my wrapping was completed. Polishing my halo 😇 ...it's wonky but it's there 😉
While they were here on Monday P&S received a phone call to say that P's brother has tested +ve for covid. They've been with him, I've been with them- it's tentative but enough to make me steer clear of Pops this week. I'm not going to be the one to jeopardise his long awaited Spanish sojourn. 🤞that Doris doesn't either!
Have a good day whatever your plans today.
Stay safe.
Rxx

Lft still positive 😭 I was convinced it wasn't going to be, so I am fed up now ☹ I think I will make a cuppa & get back into bed!
Iona enjoy your day!
DH & DS are -ve & gone back to work. I shall try and make the most of the empty house. DS has been trying to contact insurance/finance co, but isn't having much joy. The insurance have confirmed they are writing off his car, so that is something. It is looking doubtful that he will get what he needs to cancel his tax before the end of the week though 😕
