Morning all,
Thank you for the lists. Belated happy birthday, Piggers x
Nothing much planned for today - it is dark, grey and rainy outside, so not very motivating, as if I needed an excuse to do nothing. I will run the wm later, having sorted a mountain of clean washing yesterday. DSis wants to come and drop off presents. I didn’t do very well at practising my “No”, so DH and DD aren’t very happy with me. I have also promised DD some motorway driving practice, as I would rather she gets a few miles under her belt with me in the car.
Round - for the record - I am assuming that my booking at the Flylady Retreat is still being carried forward. Watching you Gremlin might be good for the evening entertainment….🤣
Cuppa one is calling to be finished, then I might think about getting dressed.
Hugs, sticks, spoons and gws wishes in abundance xx10 -
Morning all
DS2 is about to do the daily test but not holding out much hope, he was still positive yesterday so Christmas is still on hold, presents unwrapped and turkey still in the freezer. DS1 is back at work and is missing being with us all.
Cold and foggy here but we might get out for a walk later, havent been out of the house since Thursday.
WM and DW on, thinking about getting dressed and having something to eat next.11 -

Good morning 😁
Thank you for the lists ladies 😊
I have been awake for a couple of hours, and had 2 cuppas (I think! Definitely at least 1 🤣)
I have made myself a list of admin jobs to do. I am a bit fed up tbh. I should be seeing family, but that is not to be 😥 I had a snooze again yesterday afternoon, and phoned a friend for a chat for an hour. I have spent a lot of time lazing on the sofa. DH & DS would prefer it if I didn't prepare food so I am relying on them. DH usually cooks a lot of the time anyway, but meal times have been a bit erratic! 🤣 I am hungry now, so I may go and rustle up a healthy breakfast if I am allowed!
First things first - I will get up & dressed!
YL 🤞 I hope DS gets a negative today. I think I can do my first tomorrow as I had symptoms on Thursday (in hindsight! 🤦♀️)
asb I hope you have a lovely chilled day today - you have earned it!

Round, I haven't cancelled my booking either - just haven't confirmed the dates yet!
Drumroll please - breakfast has been eaten, though DH woke me up at 7.57 to meet his deadline - why does he have a deadline on a Bank Holiday ?!?!?!!!! I had woken at 3.00 thinking I heard him call my name, read for 2 hours with a cuppa to keep me company, then went back to the Land of Nod, where I was having an interesting dream about going to the pantomime with piggers and family (seriously!)
I managed to write four thankyou notes yesterday. There are five more to be done today, though two might turn into phonecalls. Other than that, the list, Rosie's walk, and maybe some knitting, I'm not planning much for today. There is plenty of turkey left for one meal, and we have eggs for the other.
It was good to get up this morning and see space under the Christmas tree. That will shortly be filled with the presents for DC and DGC, but I shall then have space on my spare bed! The LR is tidied, ironing that was airing on the radiator has been FUPA, kitchen has been S&S'd, Rosie has had her tummy tickled, and - once I've had my shower - it won't take me long to clean the bathroom and ensuite.
Catch up later - have a good day and rest as much as you can xx10 -

Long post. Sorry.Thank you Natty and Valli for the lists, Natty also for doing the Flylady Christmas cards and Ionafan for the Secret Santa. I love my very special gift, and will treasure it and think of everyone whenever I use it.Happy birthday Pigpen! Thank you so much for the gorgeous santa ornament, which went straight from the card on to the star we have. Love the reindeer nail best of all.Congratulations on the house and job offers, Dancemum.*Walking and healing* vibes for Mr Ionafan. Peaceful vibes for Ionafan.Congratulations Kazw and GI on your DSS's and DD's news. Sorry about the lurgi hitting you right when you'd least want it, and I hope it isn't too bad for you. (((Hugs)))Hang on in there ASB. You're amazing, which I've always thought what the A stands for, by the way.Thank you Narco for the chocolate, saved for when I need a tiny cheat on a No Sugar Day when I restart that after Belovéd's 75th birthday on Twelfth Night. All of your arrangements and the door decoration were beyond beautiful.I also loved seeing all the Christmas trees.Lovely to see Lurkers surfacing, and welcome to LeftattheTrafficLights and Eltree. It's been an incredibly busy six weeks and I don't think I've ever said this before, it's nothing to worry about, but I've never had any stamina and get very tired, very easily. I can usually keep going for quite a long time but when I stop I'm done for but I have a horrible feeling that what I consider 'quite a long time' is what most people consider quite normal. I've learned over the past year to knock off around 4.30 / 5.00 pm most days so that I get some downtime every day but once I get over-tired I really struggle to feel human and then it takes me several days to recover. The past few weeks have been exhausting but well worthwhile but I just didn't have the mental or physical wherewithal to keep up every day with Fred sometimes. I do catch up as soon as I can and I think I'm back to feeling myself today (Oh, er Mrs.) In any event, that's why I haven't been posting. I didn't realise for a long time that my situation wasn't normal, I've always thought I was lazy, but over the past year I've learned to accept the situation and manage my available energy a bit more realistically. In 2022 I'd quite like to learn to manage my time a bit more realistically.Christmas day was amazing! We'd originally planned to just have two neighbours in and ended up with six of them, one vegan (who only told me at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve *slap*) and two vegetarians who we met for the first time on 22 December. The three waifs and strays had absolutely nothing organised, two of them because of Covid in the households they'd planned to go to for Christmas, both students, both completely broke and broken-hearted by it all. In the end, with copious amounts of food and red wine we all had the most wonderful day, probably the best Christmas I've ever had to be honest. Belovéd got a bit carried away with port and ended up falling down the stairs, where he was rescued by one of the older neighbours who'd worked as a nursing auxillary donkeys years ago who checked him over (he bounced, he was so drunk - I've never seen him like that before in the 29 years we've been together!) and helped me put him to bed. He's a bit dinged and dented but other than that he's fine. He was desperate to get back downstairs, back to the party, so luckily they all decided to decamp next door with the cheese platter to carry on with the party and I could crash with Belovéd. One of them produced a bottle of tequila and apparently the hostess was terribly disappointed when they all threw the towel in at 1.00 am! We're already planning sharing Christmas again next year.Flying has been zilch. The kitchen floor is knee deep in detritus but the animals are all happy and stuffed full of turkey, Belovéd didn't hurt himself and I've had two good night's sleep and am now catching up with outstanding Foodbank paperwork.I'm so grateful to be part of this community and I've missed you all while I've been unable to contribute. (Thank you Natty for your kind message.)Better is good enough.11

Fabulous post HB and so lovely to "see" you back xx
Update from me - laundry hokey cokey done, one load draped over the airer, piles of recycling taken outside, sides wiped, pork stripped and tubbed up, kids still in PJs, loo bleached, bill paid. We canned the idea of a walk as it's like pea soup here.
I am now going to update the 2022 Frugal Living thread - hope to see some of you on there. I have set a budget of £80 for food in January, which will include DDs school dinners and packed lunch costs for DS, so a January meal plan needs to be written today xx
