Getting FIREd up 😀

Sadly, it's not going to make any difference to my fees for now, as I'm being stung for the flat rate due to my lowly level of assets, but an investor always thinks about the long-term, right???

I went to Dobbies today to see if they had some Halloween bits, and watched them put out their Christmas range instead 😳

Who buys perishable Christmas goods in September?

I mean, their Christmas decorations aren't exactly perishable, so that's less of a concern personally 😆

Morrisons are already doing specials on Christmas stuff, I'm guessing people gambling on getting keener prices now who can afford to store Morries stock for them? 😉
Another reading is that retailers are expecting more of the costs of the Iran conflict to filter through by the end of the year, meaning a leaner Christmas for some. Retailers occasionally stagger stuff earlier when there's an economic downturn on the basis of "buy a bit each month". We've held the line with the exception of a tub of Heroes

I was more cynically thinking that Christmas cheers people up and puts them in a buying mood and might therefore encourage more bought over longer period given we're all feeling the pinch.

Quite possibly!

Right, it's official, I have re-jigged my savings allocations spreadsheet to show that I will be putting more into my pension for a year from April 2027 (now I just need to work out what percentage I need to set it at to achieve the target reduction in net pay 🤔🤔🤔)
I feel like I have done so much money re-organising this year, it's exhausting! Hopefully I am now running out of things to do, but I still see these on the horizon:
- September - Actually invest the money in the new LISA once the transfer is finally over (and leave it there forever, from the way I'm feeling 😳!)
- December - Move my niece's money when the fixed rate expires
- April - Claim tax allowances x2, submit request for increased pension contributions, switch to a new cash ISA when the fixed rate expires
That still seems like quite a lot 🤦♀️!

Admit it, fiddling with a spreadsheet is at least a little bit fun! 😆

I dunno, it did feel pretty depressing to change it from "Normal years 2028 onwards" to "Normal years 2029 onwards" - that's a long time to not be following a simple, regular schedule! I just want to set and forget 🙄!
