I get the impression that more than a few MFWs are like that episode of Gavin and Stacey where Gwen has been using the same towels since 1982 😂
Before my Sun King traits are considered I would point out that we get 4+ years out of a set of towels (rotating 2 sets at a time) and that they are reused for cleaning/drying cats etc afterwards.
My parents have towels that belonged to my grandmother in their holiday home and they are miserable old things with no pile or absorbency (the towels) 🤣 Like reading bad books, I am convinced life is too short for **** towels

No, no judgement from me - if anything it made me wonder if people would think I’m being tight! But while I am now thinking about replacing them, it hasn’t been something I’ve felt the need to do until recently! They’re still in fairly good shape - just the binding beginning to go. We don’t tumble dry (no tumble dryer), so I wonder if that makes a difference to wear and tear.

We tumble dry, no realistic way to dry six towels at a time in a Scottish winter without a pulley! I miss my pulley, no room in current house for one. TD makes for softer towels but you see them breaking down before your eyes with the filter contents...
