    First of the month round-up....

    • Savings for retirement: -£1,431.79
    • Average needed per month to retire in 9 years: £4,049.91
    • Rolling 12-month average: £2,192.15
    • Getting FIREd up starts: April 2027

Bleurgh! Over £500 knocked off my rolling 12-month average in a single month 🤦‍♀️! Slightly depressing to be doing all the right things and going backwards, but I have to try and remember all the months where I don't do anything and come away with ridiculous increases....

9(!) more paydays of repaying pots, then it's on to getting FIREd up and actually putting more towards it than a monthly pension contribution. Then the minus months will be really shattering 🤣!

    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!

Eight more paydays, I clearly can't count (I used my fingers as well, which is slightly worrying 😅)!

Was it an NT place or another tourist attraction? In fairness to them, they have their Christmas cards out for American tourists on their holidays…. If it was though, no excuse for that!

To be honest, October is a bit early for me, although I have been mulling over where to go for our December market trip.

Me too, but at least it’s vaguely in the right direction. I used to be a firmly ‘not before Mr MV’s birthday at end of November’ person, but found it was stressful to find things by that point (especially as I try to find new stuff in CS for a few presents). We have already bookedour market trip (although that’s mainly because the Eurostar will only get more expensive if we leave it longer).
